Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155 Serious Engineering
Just a small suggestion, if you sell your current bike and get a new one you will be loosing more money than what you save by increase in mileage. Regarding mileage, most of the 150CC bikes don't give more than 40-45 depending on the riding style, I only once got above 50 on my Hunk thanks to grandpa style of riding(but my grandpa is a quick rider BTW). Just enjoy your current ride and upgrade only if clock some serious miles daily.Originally posted by ep452 View PostBiker @ heart

Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155 Serious Engineering
Hey Guys.. Am new here... Planning to buy Gixxer.. Jus wanted to know if it is possible to get the below items from the showroom/from outside.....
1) Mud guard in the front wheel.. I think the dirt will settle down on the engine when we ride.. especially during rainy days.. it will ruin the looks
2) If not mud guard, an engine guard.. for the same reason of protecting the engine from dir/mud..
3) Lower chain guard.. to protect the chain from mud during rainy seasons..

No it probably has a gear shift indicator which can be set to switch on at different rpms. Its being installed on a few new bikes that come with gear shift indicator option.

Yes, there is. As mentioned in manual as well.Originally posted by Wolverine90 View PostHey Folks..Does anybody noticed that Gixxer instrument console has an option to set limiting speed ...? The showroom guy said so..
It's rpm limit indicator only. Manual says that we can set rpm limit after which it will glow..Originally posted by Balgi View PostNo it probably has a gear shift indicator which can be set to switch on at different rpms. No that is what I meant. When the light turns on you change gears. Its not a rev limiter but a rev indicator.

Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155 Ridden and Reviewed
Hello,
I am a beginner and I have decided to buy my first bike. I have shortlisted Suzuki Gixxer and KTM Duke 200. I recently had a 12km ride on a honda cbr250r and hence I feel I can handle Duke 200 also. But my friends who own duke have told me to go for the gixxer as it would be a very tiring first experience to own and gain experience with a duke 200. Also they have warned me of the higher maintenance and care for the duke 200 with ever increasing fuel rates and comparatively lower fuel efficiency. Is it okay to start out with a duke 200 or get this gixxer? Reviews and owners have said gixxer is very dynamic and easy to own. I am inclined towards duke 200, still. Can any of you please tell me why I should go with gixxer as the first bike? and would i regret not buying duke 200 if at all I opt for gixxer?
Am I having the craze for higher cc and power that people describe is typical to beginners? What are all the other things should I consider while getting my first bike?
Please lend some insight. It would be of very great help. I dont want a regretful first experience.
Thanks.

Do check fz fi v2. Fuel injected fz. Looks snazzier in fzs avatars. Fz is Tried and tested but gixxer is newly launched. Just have a test drive.Originally posted by srinath2494 View PostHello,

Hi, I too had confusion some what similar to yours but difference is i am not a beginner. I ruled out Duke, ns 200 because of seat height and maintenance/efficiency. Felt gixxer is much more practical for my daily sportyOriginally posted by srinath2494 View PostHello,

commuting after several test rides and information gathering.
On a lighter note few other things you might want to think about, would you ever need a liquid cooled engine (would you go on non stop ride of some 500km), would you need a top end peak power and torque (would you usually ride on top speed more than 120kmph). As a beginner important things for you is comfort and more practical bike in my perspective.
