  • Well I haven't ridden the RTR FI too much, but yes the FZ is amazing on corners, very confidence inspiring, very light to handle, I'm ENJOYING IT.

The 0-20 and 0-100 timings are phenomenal compared to the RTR. And these figures are what matter a lot. Looking at the braking distance, it seems like the petal discs on the RTR are just for show. The braking on the Yam is just AMAZING!! If this data is to be believed that is...
Guess this whole thing is just a farce then... Hmmmm.. So whats the bottom line? In terms of 1. pure engine performance and 2. Handling. Who wins 1 & 2?

Alright then. But why am I losing air so fast? And my friend rides a Dio, and we both filled at the same time, and he uses his bike A LOT, and we both registered losses in tire pressure, his losses were greater though. I'll keep you posted...

              • Hey guys,

Had been to Pacer Yamaha, Infantry Rd today to have a TD of FZ16 (which unfortunately I didn't get, my bad). Saw 4 new coloured FZs on display. They were Purple,Yellow,Blue and White. The sales rep told that the colours cost an extra 5000 rupees making the on-road price Rs 80000/-

The white one was a special edition with Carbon Fibre(imported from Yamaha) inserts above the headlight, on the fuel tank and on the tail section of the bike. It also had an imported handle bar which was much thicker than the stock. Now comes the worse part, this version costs around Rs 94000/- on road.

                The pricelist is as follows:

                FZ16: Rs 75000/-
                White colour: Rs 5000/-
Carbon fibre on headlight assembly, tail section, fuel tank: Rs 10000/-
                Handle bar: Rs 4000/-
                Net total: Rs 94000/-

I am attaching the pics i clicked at the showroom.

                    ^^

What is the 4000 for handle bar for? They did not do anything on that except new paint?

Yamaha, is just overdoing with the pricing .. FZ was already overpriced at the first place and now these sky rocketting rates for nothing but paint, fibre. They should have given these free to compensate already high price tag for FZ

                    • This is personal experience.

HI all, I just took test drive of a FZ16. I am not very sure about the reason but it felt very dull and lacked the crispness in throttle response. Another opinion is money drainer @74999 on road Bangalore. …For any rider who gives less value to appearance and style, I will say ny day Apache Fi is a better choice..

The showroom guys told me they can give me any Customer color for 5000 extra. For 1000 bucks more they will put two LEDs in the place of Handle Barend weight. And for another 1600 rs they will put another two LEDs on the Yamaha logo on the Curvy thing on the engine which helps in Air flow.

So if you want a different color than the stock spread of 3 colors you bike cost is 79,999 ≈ 80,000 (1 Rupee for the Bhikari standing outside the showroom)

Add 4 LEDs and another 2600 Rs will add up to the package, making it 82599. Which is ≈ Hero Honda Karizma and >Pulser 200cc.

But I would say .. It has got the look ..

                      • Exactly same thoughts I had when I took a test ride.

But for many that awesome tyre, looks and superb handling steals the deal. For me too, these factors left me thinking for a while before I dropped it from my option list .

Obviously! That is the charge for Individuality & Uniqueness, right?

So, it's pretty much acceptable. You can always choose the normal version too ...
