Owners are requested to please post the same.

Congrats to all of them, who got their hands on this class bike.

    • @FZ what are the other bikes u have, also how would you compare performance with other 150's or say the P200.

250cc would have been ideal for those lookin for MT01 looks with real world performance for the 'under-privileged'

      • @leadpb-Very good first ride report.Regarding the bike bottoming out try to experiment a bit with the rear shocker settings and see what suits you the best.

        • Thanks MG!!

I somewhat feel the suspensions are a tad hard on potholes and stuff...and mostly I will be a solo rider.. so I would leave them for now.

yes ..the monoshock on the FZ 16 is a 3 way adjustable piece..unlike the one on the R15 that is Fixed to specific hardness
Just because you haven't seen it doesnt mean its impossible...expect the unexpected.

FYI, FZ has mono shocks and R15 as mono link type suspension which does the job by itself

              • I done 1st service my fz16

I rode the bike for 1000 km in two week before my Yamaha FZ16 finally went in for its first service. The first service was a huge breather for me; in terms of the speed I can now ride my bike in. Before this, I maintained it around 50 kmph; now, I exceed it by at least 10 kmph. The manual says I have to limit the top speed below 65 kmph (until it runs 1000 km) for a good running-in of the engine.
I left it for servicing at oswal Motors, the same place I bought it. The service cost me Rs. 265 ( Engine Oil, Filter Oil, Bike Chane Spry) which was supposed to be free (apparently, only the labour charges are waived off). I got it back on the evening of the same day. The service was good; the bike felt smoother

The mileage just before I left it for service was around 40 kmpl. And after I got it back, I rode about a 100km; yet to calculate the mileage.

                i touch a speedometer in 100kmph today

Yamaha ____ Cooling System. Allows special airflow to the area surrounding the spark plug for cooling the engine.

                      • Finally i had a test ride of the FZ16 at Pacer Motors, Bangalore. Some of the observations from my side:

                        Likes:

                        Looks:
Macho'ish looks and that lovely exhaust steals the show.Enough to set pulses racing.

Engine Refinement: The bike felt as refined as the R15 but with a more throaty roar.Even at high revs it never felt strained.

Stability. At slower speeds the bike needs to be nudged more as compared to other bikes in its segment. But once speed builds up it is immensely flickable and with that monstrous 140 section tyre the bike was extremely stable. All in all a very good handling machine.

Power: Well this is the most tricky part. Power/Performance cravers would be disappointed, somewhat. But make no bones about it the bike sheer torque did keep me busy.I went to test ride the bike with to-enjoy-bent of mind and i was not expecting a fireworks a la RTR. The bike is definitely not as fast as the RTR but it's as fast as the UG3 or the Extreme. And yeah, this bike takes the cake when it comes to fun-to-ride factor(low and mid range). In this case, even the RTR would trail as it's more of a screamer at high revs.

The way the FZ made power at top gear at slow speeds did impress me.In city riding would be a breeze in this bike.

                        Dislikes:

Display LCD:I really don't know what was the reason for the illegible tacho display which would require a lens to view during daytime!! You just won't notice it while riding.

Power at higher rpms did seem to taper off more rapidly.May be because the bike's engine character is more for city runabouts.

VFM:This is tricky question.Whoever prefers looks over performance should surely go for this bike and others should look elsewhere or should wait. My friend was not that impressed especially when pricing is taken into account.75k-on road is somewhat steep but hey you don't have any other product like this,Period!!

The bike is indeed a good product from Yamaha and it did impress me more than the R15!!

                        • Fuzzy is not a track bike. We should understand that. It is mainly targetted for city riders and an occasional drive on the highways. And I feel it serves its purpose.

R15 is the track bike, which beats the hell out of any bike trying to put a claim on the tracks in India. (leaving out the SBKs).

But on a busy road or city traffic, who stands out?? I don't think Uni, P150, R15 or the RTR deals with the traffic with an ease similar of the Fuzzy.

I have been riding my Fuzzy in the B'lore traffic in peak hours for over two weeks. And everyday I say, bring it on and I can tackle you with ease!! Yes, it glides through traffic.

We have to realise that Fuzzy is targetting an audience which consists of mainly commutters. Presently, P150 is the leader in this segment followed by the Uni. Fuzzy is their to compete with them. And I feel Yamaha has come up with a winner.

                          Just my opinion!!

I agree with leadpb. For the daily commuters its a dream bike. Smooth engine, great looks, decent power and mileage. BUT BUT for city riding the comfort this bike offers is something unmatched by other 150cc bikes. I may sound partial to fz but with time and more reviews this is what this bike will be known for.

@fz owners: do you think it will be a good tourer? I have hunch it is

                            • jus got to ride a frnds FZ atlast, my first impression was the bike feels too underpowered compared to my pulsar. i doubt the carb mixture was not proper on the bike i rode but still the engine feels quite a bit stressed from mid to peak rpms, initial pick up and midrange accelaration is very strong and smooth but really runs outta steam after that but the one thing that iam in love with the bike is ofcourse the styling and the riding position, SPOT ON. the bike feels very low and the seating position is also great. clutch and gear box operation is very good, andthe handling is another point which i was very happy with, all though u can feel the wide rear tyre somewhat restricting u to flick the bike quickly in city traffic( somethig that u get used to on the long run), it really gives heaps of confidence while cornering all out.
handle bar feels a tad too wide for city riding, and i disliked the boring rear view mirror that comes as std fitment even on a HH splendor. the digital speedo looks good, but the tacho read out is very poor and really makes u take ur eyes off the road to have a proper note on it. exhaust note at low revs are very nice but soon turns quite ordinary.
The next thing that really turned me on was the sooooperb brakes, the best front brake i've eva used on an indian bike, even tho it is from the R15 it feels at home on the FZ16, the wide forks and tyres only adding spice to it. braking is very sharp and precise even if not really progressive.
i have no idea about the fuel efficiency though, hope it wud be close to the 45kmpl that all other 150's offer.
overall VFM is quite low, IMHO though. if only it had a 180 or 200cc engine the 75,000rs price tag wud make justice.
