  • I got to ride the FZ 16 today.
The initial response is awesome, clutch is very light( i ride a p180 he he, anything feels light after that i guess), excellent braking(270mm rotor does help).
I thought the fat tyres at front and rear would give a heavy feel to the bike, but the damn thing moves like it can read you mind!
The engine is very smooth and torquey, but as it was a brand new bike, didnt push it much, did around 70kmph.

On the downside, the pillion seat is a pathetic excuse for one, the horn is very weak. and I found the display quite hard to read( rode it in daytime).

I totally agree with the first three.

Damn, how could I forget to comment on that. The clutch is unbelievably light. Makes it easier in bumper-to-bumper traffic.

Pillion seat has small dimensions, so people with "rounder" dimensions will have a bit of a problem.

Yes, the horn IS weak. The bike looks so bullying and everything but then when you press the horn, it goes peep-peep.

I cannot comment on the display part during daytime because I only read it during night time, but one thing I observed was that the console light is always on. Even with the light switch in off position, the console light stayed on throughout. I didn't know that was a case here. BTW, this has a DC battery. So lights-on/engine off combo possible.

          Exactly what i thought too.

Rachan, I didnt find the exhaust note getting much louder at the speeds i rode. Of course it was on very busy roads that i rode the bike.

I totally agree. I saw it just standing in my colony, and I was going in an auto, and OH MY GOD!! I swung my head back and realized it's the FZ, and WHAT a presence!

Marvelous. Yamaha has killed it with this bike. The R15 looks like a puny plastic toy compared to this bike. It just looks massive. Wish there was a twin or an inline four and a metal tank in that bike I would buy it with my eyes closed then!

congrats for the bike dude!it is a dasher indeed.i am not too sure of the power though. saw one in my college a few days back. i liked the rear a lot. may be due to the wide tyres

                        • I am very excited reading the test drive reports. I thought looks are what will make FZ16 special. Apparently the beauty is not just skin-deep.

                          • I got my black Fuzzy on the 22nd. Since then, I have been bombarded left right and center with questions, that too at almost every corner of the street.

Sometimes you will be asked at signals, at fuel stations, parking lots.. and sometimes people will see you coming slowly from their rear view mirror, look back, slow down, go behind you to check you the fat a$$ and then speed up to ask questions !!

In my company's parking lot, it was surrounded on an average by 4 people every time I crossed it. At one point of time, my CFO was discussing the fuzzy. (I even heard a girl was 'checking out' my bike ). Yes, looking at fuzzy and knowing its your bike, satisfaction overcomes you!!

The bike is amazing to ride. I am 6 ft, and do not have any complains on the comfort part. In traffic, you zip past almost everybody without an effort.

And on empty roads, you look at the passing traffic and wish when your run-in will finish.

Acceleration is good. I feel it to be better than a Unicorn or a P150. (I haven't got a chance to ride a P180 or up)

The balance is perfect, it couldn't be better. You can let go of both your hands and ride and it goes straight as a line, even on small potholes it is able to maintain the balance!!

Pillion seat is comfortable!! Me and my friend (who is 6.1-6.2) both have ridden as pillion but we have no complains on the comfort part. But it is not so comfortable for long distances.

But, more than the comfort part, its the speed brakers which cause the problem when you are travelling in duos. Yep, no matter how light the pillion, chances are it will touch.

Deadly looks !! But take it through a muddy road after the rain, it looks like dirt bike!! Hell, the bike is an effort to clean and easy to get dirty.

Well, the bike draws attention. But it again has its drawbacks.
Some a$$hole, somehow found the tank of my black fuzzy to be the only place where he can stick his chewing gum. Then thought, it didn't look good and tried to remove it but was unsuccessful. In the process left some scratches!! (I was able to remove the gum. Any suggestions on an easy way to do it?? My friend suggested ICE, I was unable to get it and I was getting restless, I used Petrol)

Problems !! Yes, I already have a couple of problems!!

                            1. Tail Light bulb got fused the very first day. (I think it was my problem, I started the bike with the lights ON !! Got it replaced, and now I am ensuring that the lights are OFF everytime I press the start button)

                            2. Self Start!! I parked my bike at forum mall last evening. Before that, it was a perfect ride (some 195KM). But after that, I am unable to start the bike with the accelerator. Choke or No Choke. Even when riding, on the lower gears, if don't give any acceleration, the engine stops !!

Any one else facing this problem?? Somehow I feel, it is to do with the fuel not reaching the engine.

I am planning to take it to the showroom!!

PS: The rider is new to riding a bike (any kind) All tips are welcome!!

Nice name to your beast- Fuzzy!

Please have your bike checked for carburettor blockage. Have you been keeping the bike outside in the rain? Since your bike is new, there should not be any such problems.
