200+ cc !!
200+ cc is totally a different segment. And as of now, it is not matured. I am sure Yamaha will soon come up with something in that segment. But first they had to come up with something where they can generate revenues. And this why they have 2 top notch offers. Unlike any other company!! All others, it is a compromise between a track bike and a naked bike. Yamaha has given 2 different models for 2 different applications. No Compromises!!

I dont get it when many say that FZ16 is underpowered and it should be 200 or 250CC. Its not that Yamaha cannot make a 200/250 CC (all know that)..they wanted to make 150CCs for India and came up with two of the best in that category, poles apart in style & function. Someone may ask why pay 75K for a 150cc. But is it just another 150? Smooth & refined engine with good amount of torque, top-class gear box, quality parts and finish, technology features like trottle posiiton sensor, single axis engine balancer, mid-ship silencer, monoshock, tubeless radial tyre etc and last but not the least - styling inherited from an international model..... Looks like the price tag is justified.sigpicOm Yamahaya Namaha...praise the lord!

Things to Discuss !!
I have again 2 things to discuss!!
1. Gear Box : I am unable to move to Neutral when the bike is on. Even shifting gears is pretty hard, especially when moving from N to 1 and 1 to 2.
2. The pic shows how close the chain is to the bar. Is this something to worry about??
I have done about 450 KMs. I will be taking it to service in another day or two.

I agree with you. The handle is poor and of very low quality. I have already seen a FZ with bended handle. It just falled from stand and handle bent.Originally posted by spiderweb View PostHey guys wat do you feel about this FZ16 da HANDLE...?

Beside this, yesterday my mechanic (who works for Yamaha) told me that they have started to get FZs for repairs. One of the FZ has leaked oil from front shockers
(this is when they are the most bulkiest in Indian motorcycles) and another bike is having issues with its suspension.
What to say... these are not very common issues which we face in our motorcycles.. and I am forced to rethink about my impressions of FZ.

Am yet to take a test ride of this bike.. I intend to get one, but after a couple of months.. not before that.. Got a couple of questions though..
1. How good would this be as a tourer? Maybe not like the ZMA, but still would it hold for those odd rides that one would take over the weekend? - This may be too early to answer this question, as most of the folks would not have had a chance to take it on long rides.. still this is one major question that is holding me back..
2. How good is the riding position? Esp when you are taking those long rides? Good on your back?
