I took 2 test rides but wasn't quite impressed on the power front, just a bit better than my p150 i'd say..
and although it looks good, feels quite plasticky..
was earlier thinking of buying, but now will wait for any new entrants in the diwali period..

hey bangalore wheels said deliveries from 25th...can anyone else confirm this? y is this taking too much time?

My Town Updates

FZ was supposed to arrive this 17 but they said it has been delayed and the bikes are to be dispatched today only, they hope to start deliveries around 24th of this month.

i drive just 50 km in 2 days so here is my very short experience on my red fz...!!!
once you ride on this beauty you'll start feeling confident,as far as riding position it is very comfertable,manuvering on road in the traffic is awesome.pickup even on low rpm is very good,the shockers are very well made their resonces are very good even on bumpy road thats may be b'coz of its big thick front shocker and mono one at the rear, and all of above the looks of this bike are killer from back and from front as well for those who like naked bike.some guys from my office tried this bike all ppl like its macho look but few ppl against it as well what they feel there should be small fairing on headlight like pulser b'coz those ppl aren't aware of what naked means ..LOLS! few ppl start comparing it with pulser 220 and 200 but i tried to make them undertand that this bike doesn't belong to those league but they didn't understand so i leave them to live on thier on thinkingas far as top speed so b'coz of run in period i'm not going more than 50 now but even in that speed engine is so smooth.headight is very powerfull, i think it's most powerfull than any other bike avalable in india

as far as i dislike of the bike i don't like thet sound of this bike it is so silent type some time i feel it is not start on red light lols and the back seat is little less spacious as well. the meter is little cluter as well if yamaha can make it little bigger than it'll be easy to read it under direct sun light as well.no front protection leg gaurd which i feel importent in the delhi traffic and i ask dealer about that then he replied that may be in near future we'll get that leg gaurd for this machine.

overall i feel very proud to be the owner of this head turning beauty.every ones say wow once they first see this bike

ya man, even i got the smae reply from panache.. they are saying they have not yet got the billing from yamaha motors so they are delaying and they will start giving the deliveries from 20th Oct onwards.. lets hope that we get it on 21st with registration..

@solo: Nice, first-hand experience of the FZ there. Thanks! No leg-guard; hmmm..That can be a point of concern although the ZMA doesn't have that either.

You mentioned that the headlight might be the most powerful on any Indian bike till date. Is it brighter than the P-220's headlights, even? What about the handling? Did you try taking a few round-abouts in Delhi with substantial speed (say 50-55 km/hr. since your machine is in run-in) ? I would love to learn more about the handling of the machine.

P.S: You forgot to mention the kind of attention you MUST be garnering everywhere you are taking the FZ - red lights, office, cafes, pubs, movies.. Please share some experience of the same!

hi all, i doesn't mean to compare the headlight of fz with p220 i think in his own segment like p150,180,hunk,apache,cbz..!

@aryan dude...!! everywhere i go on every red light there are few same question,, bhai sahab ketne ke lee? kon se copany ke hai?mielage kya hai and wow.. kya look hai tyre to dekho...Lols every one is looking front and back of my bike with hungry eyes may be after a while this bike going to be common but for now when i'm on this bike it's like "LORD OF THE BIKE"

and till this machine is very light in handling in traffic its like knife in butter. but now acording to my run in period every other bike(discover,platina) cross me so it feel bad when i'll finish my run in period i want to zoom this monster..

@solo: You are right, you must enjoy this fame for as long as it lasts! And that rear tyre is sure to gather attention (A LOT!). Keep it under control during run-in. Let other machines pass you, doesn't really matter. My P-200 has successfully completed the run-in but even now Platinas and Discovers do pass by my P-200; who cares, really?

I can find even gladiator tucked down waiting for spares. With new FZ-16, a sub 12 bhp motor with lots of cosmetic parts gonna tear your patience with the wait.
When is the manufaturers going to learn about putting real figures on spec sheet. The claimed horses are on rear wheel so approx 20% less will be the actual figure. With ridable speed on indian roads a far less expensive RTR can kill a R15.

Call from Yamaha

Hai guys got a call from yamaha yesterday!

They said they called me to confirm that i have booked the bike and they said they were trying to keep the dealer malpractices at bay by ensuring the person who booked the bike gets the first bike (FCFS).

And that I would have my bike before Diwali (Hopefully).

My dealer said that he gets 18 bikes in the first lot and that i would be among the lucky few to have the bike before diwali.

My bike id is I-162661.

Any news from your side guys?
