While at the petrol bunk, this little kid jumps around my bike screaming "apache" "apachee...". Then he comes to the front and it was as if someone asked him what is 6 x 3. He stood there baffled, staring at the bike, wtf is this thing??. His dad comes along laughing, picks him up and rode off.

simple joys of being a biker ;-)

Oh, by the way, My ride is a cbr

Worst part is that since Vasai feeds the parasite city - mumbai, we are blessed with load shedding. Somehow people link them up and end up staring at you with disgust when they see 'electricity' being wasted!

Yesterday at Western Express Highway, two pandus stopped me for checking papers and licence and after their verification, they started enquiring about my bike (R15 V2) as in price, mileage etc...Then the fun started...
First one turns to the other and tells, "Such a waste bike...Nobody can sit behind, rider has to bend so much...waste of money..." (Translated version)
I laughed at their ignorance and sped away...

Mine is Hero Impulse. While I stopped to smoke, a guy was quite more curious about my bike and started asking

Hero company ki bike hai. Hero Puch waali naa ???

(Is it of Hero company. The same of Hero Puch one, right?)

Top speed kyaa hai?? I said - aprox 100.

Kitne CC ki hai?? I replied - 150 CC.

To ye to bas dikhaane ke liye hi racing bike jaisi banaai hai company ne... (so does the company make only a show off racing bike look like).

I did not say anything as normally people does not understand offroading. I smiled, started the bike and jumped the bike over a unsorted stone pile and did not bother to look back

Hava aati hai kya?

Well i have a p220F.
An uncle asked me "With all this big thing up front (referring to the fairing), hava aati hai kya?"
I was like "Im sorry".
Uncle: "Are is chiz ke bina pairon me mast hava lagti thi.. Abhi bhi lagti hai kya???"
I LOLed myself in my head and said "Haan uncle ab bhi aati hai!"

I mean how does it matter yaar, unless ur wearing a lungi while driving...

Got a couple of crazy comments recently for my 6 days old baby - Hero Impulse.

Yesterday :: One man asked me the most common question - Kitne me padi bhaisahad (how much is it bro?). I replied - 76,000. He asked very curiously - Aisa fir isme kyaa hai (what this bike has so special on such a price). I was not sure what to reply. Here he fired his next question - Average kitna hai (what is the mileage). I replied - somewhere between 40 to 50 depending upon riding style. He was shocked - Baas, fir bhi itni mahangi (only 40-50 KMPH and still so expensive)

Today :: A 15-16 year guy to his friend : Are dekh yaar is gaadi ki seat, aaraam se chaar jane baith sakte hai (look at the seat, it can accomodate 4 persons easily)

I had parked my bike at a parking lot. On coming back, I found 3 taxiwalas discussing the anatomy of the bike

Their comments:
1) Tank, Tire and seat are from FZ16
2) Engine is from Apache
3) Fairing is from Pulsar

My Reactions:
1) Is it really copied
2) Ya whatever
3) Keep talking morons

I was asked recently if I was road testing the upcoming P220. I had to point out at the Honda Logo on the front of the bike. :P

HIM> I put a divider pipe at the mouth of the carb. so now I can use both my K&N and Stock filter, so double power increase.

HIM> My bike's got ABS.
ME> Wow, how much did it cost??
HIM>1000Rs. (Me thinking its the local ABS)
ME> Can you get me one.?
HIM> Of course.
Next day saw his bike.
ME> Where's the ABS

HIM> Its a pin, which my mech inserted inside the brake to increase bite.

So once again, tell me why we need ABS

HIM> Its easier to do stoppies with them.
ME> Wow man, will save cash and let you know.
