Was kinda thinking the same!!! ...It really cheered me up...

Well this happened to me.., I and a friend stopped to drink some juice after a long drive. I was a standing a little away from my bike (Pulsar 220) Two characters came near it and were talking pointing something so i got near the bike again to see what they were doing.
Guy 1 was saying Seems bajaj is copying yamaha. This entire thing has been lifted from the Fazer. See its the same front and the same 150 cc. Bajaj just got it into the market.... I was like lol but controled my laughter. The other guy was noding in agreement..
When I sat on my bike the guy asks me Is it new? I said Yes. Its 53,000 right. I said its 1lak. He says its just 150cc. Why so costly? I showed him the 220 batch and said its 220 cc
And I think The P220 came into the market before the fazer... lol
dum guy...
And I am getting tired of the question Kitna milage Milti hai? (ho much milage does your bike give?
If I cared so much about milage would I have got a 220...lol

An old experience...2008 when very few pulsar 220 FI were on the Road hardly ppl know about it and i was glad to have one. i use to study in Baramati 100 away in SE direction of pune.
had funny comments and question like
1)nice modification looks like dhoom bike....i was like WTF !
2)Friends while taking a test ride as the bike was new...
friend:dude i heard some weird sound while startup...
me:Its a fuel pump man!
friend:wow!!...
3)an automobile engineer from piaggio company(baramati plant) test riding one of the auto suddenly stops me and does inquiry about the bike mileage, cost, blah blah blah...after completing conversation..i started my bike

engg. guy: hey your bikes idling is too high would u like me to help u to reduce it and tune it properly
me:its 220 cc bike naturally it will be having high idling and it is set by service center guys don't u worry about it.
engg guy: still let me have a look
me:sir it is not an auto rickshaw :P

and a lot more funny stuff i don't remember much now
damn those were weird and funny experiences i had...

some questions which i have heard.

Got KTM Duke 200 in ending march. Will post some questions which have been asked to me.
1) Bhai yamaha ke hai kya?
2) KTM chinese hai na?
3) Back tyre aur seat mai bot jaga hai. Aap vaha box lagva dijye, storage ke jaga mil jai ge
4) One person came and started pushing pillion side down and said, muje lagda agar mai press karuga to bike neche aa jaige.
5) One said-kis company ke hai. other answered before i could say anything-yai pulsar 150 modify kara raxe hai.
6) One said -itna bada radiator laga hai, kya diesel par chalte hai.
I dont know from where such thoughts come to their minds? There are a lot more but just need to remember. Maybe next time.

I was stopped by a guy who said, Sir - please stop, I want to ask you something about this bike.

I stopped.

He: How much is the bike sir?
Me: 1,39L on road.
He: 2nd hand?
Me: No first hand.
He: Sir you got cheated.
Me: Why?
He: Sir they gave you used bald tires.
Me: Oh yeah man, I didn't notice this at all. I am going back to "service center" and ask for refund.
He: Ok sir, Do that. It is your hard earned money.

And yeah --> Bike: Duke 200.

R15 without delta box

About duke:

I stopped at juice centre once to quench my thirst. Soon one sumo came with some persons in it. They came out and spotted the bike and me near it. They got curious and started asking me about the bike.

1st person : Imported?
me : NO, Indian
2nd person : how much?
me : 1.34L
1st person : That much? whats so special in this? (asking very sarcastly as if i was a fool to buy such a bike)
my answer : If the bike wouldnt have been special, u wouldnt have asked me anything.

And i soon left the place.




One more incident at a sugarcane juice on road side. This time some persons there started asking:

1st person : look, imported bike.
2nd person : must be honda.
1st person : no, it looks like yamaha
3rd person : nahi re, it might be kawasaki, See KTM is written on it.
2nd person : lets ask owner, (turning to me) which company?
me : Bajaj
2nd : BAJAJJJ???? But nowhere its written.
me : (In my mind : Even other company names which were said were also not written) Ya, bajaj has 47% share in KTM and launched it recently.

They were so surprised at the name Bajaj. As if they were not believing that bajaj could make/release such a bike.

Today i went to a hotel in my new R15 V2 Black ..

One guy came near me ...

He - How much is the bike ?
Me - 1.25 L
He- Was smiling and said oh ....

After seeing the cuts near the Cowlings and the muscles of the bike he asked ..

He- Does the Bike come with all the cuts or u have done modification like the sharp edges ...

A friend of mine who till recently worked in Mahindra & Mahindra (Car) Plant in Nasik came to me looking for Scooter advice and was pretty impressed with the progress made by Mahindra 2 Wheelers.

So he asks me

Q: What do you feel about Mahindra Scooters? Are they good?
A: My Rodeo is doing well enough, not troubles yet. Blah blah blah (you know... how I am )

Q: I was looking at the new Duro DZ. How is that one?
A: It is basically same as Rodeo, only clothes changed.

Q: What?!?! Your Rodeo runs on Diesel?
A: When did I say that? Its all petrol!

Q: But Duro 'DZ' runs on diesel! The showroom guy told me.. How else does it get 60kmpl?
A: No it doesn't

Q: What? But I thought that the engine development was done in RnD department in our plant! I think

There was indeed some speculation on M&M looking at Diesel scoots and mo'bikes... so!

Well it was funny the way he said it, I cannot help but remember his face whenever I see the Duro DZ Kareena ad on Telly . Its a pity you didn't see the funny side.
