They were two young guys in their early 20s. I am pretty sure they are decently educated atleast to read such stuff!

By the way another R15 which was also whisked away by these miscreants have been found along with my P-200! I cannot even imagine the happiness on the owner's face, as his R15 was just 4-5 days old!

No, surprisingly there isn't any damage to the bike apart from the already existing minor scratches that were already there. Only the rear view mirrors are gone, and the lock is damaged because of which I just cannot switch on the ignition.

Once the bike goes to the PBK service center, only then the actual amount of damage (if any) would come to light.

The theives it seems got away. I highly doubt this story of the Police though. Nothing you do can really deter someone who is hell-bent on getting away with your machine. Adding an extra lock or such things is just like another level of security that we can do from our end.

Moreover, my bike just has the default handle lock that a bike comes factory fitted with. No extra security fitments whatsoever, and I have paid my price. I'll surely get some more locks fitted to it.

              • Wow ! Am out of station for a couple of days & check xbhp to see this. Wow again ! Good to hear both of you got your bikes back.

Regarding the attitude of the cops towards filing a FIR comlpaint - a couple of years back we had quite a few pigeons stolen from our house. We complained to the cops & since my Dad knew almost/if not all the shop keepers dealing in pets & other bird collectors in our city, we informed them about the theft. A couple of days later we found that a bunch of school kids were trying to sell these birds. Got the cops to catch them & the cops were telling us 'You got your pets back. Do you really want to file a complaint and ruin these kids lives? If you file a complaint, it will show as in increase in the number of crimes in our jurisdiction which is really bad for us. So why dont you not file charges?'

Guess we should do our best to get the FIR filed on the same day itself.

                      • Glad to know that you got your bike back, Aryan! It would be great if you could get your bike parked in a more secure place (preferably in a closed area).

You are an expert Chintu. Could you please be kind enough to suggest what could perhaps be the alternative then? Damn! These locks are just five minute 'jobs' eh!? Unbelievable really.

That default handle lock is Dreadful. My take... rent a garage and park your steeds there.
