    hi,
    can anyone suggest me a good CHEAP cell phone with gps?
    I need to see the speed of my bike
    also the other thing i'll want is good battery backup and bt for wireless headset
    i have used a motorola t190, nokia 3315, nokia 7600, lg rd2030 rim, nokia 6600 sony ericsson j210i and am currently using lg rd3330 and nokia 1650

      AFAIK Built in GPS are not yet available on the so called cheap phones so far.... ( I may be wrong though)

      For that purpose, maybe you can buy a GPS receiver rather than buying a new phone!

        Basically, the phones you have used are mostly budget phones. GPS is on high end. Still, statistically the 3 cheapest phones with inbuilt GPS Chip are SE W760i, C702i & TM506...

        But, if you really need a GPS phone with good camera, GREAT Music quality & OS Software system, so that more GPS Apps can come from net, I suggest i550 or i560 ... it's not too expensive, maybe around 13-16k ...


        & Satyen bhai is right. You can use an external GPS if you take another economical set like: MOTOROKR E6, 5320 Xpessmusic or yet cheaper 3230. and it will prove more economical after all.

          good value for money...

          ASUS p320..win mob 6.1 and gps/wifi..the gps is supposed to be better than teh one in the htc touch diamond...
          price approx 9500-10000

            My brother needs a leather case for his imate jasjar. The case is available online on ebay but its in the states. I dont want to pay duties for something which can be easily available in India(?). I checked Univercell but they dont have anything, also did some googling, but to no avail.

            Any place here online where I can buy this? A link/shop address would go a long way in helping out.

                  I think you meant HTC Touch and not Touch Diamond!

                  The Touch Diamond is a brilliant phone, the TF3D interface covers the ugly windows mobile interface. I have been trying to port the TF3D interface into my TYTN 2, have been successful as well, but all the apps dont work in it!

                  The ASUS P320 is a slow phone thanks to its OMAP850 200MHz processor!
                  That compared with Touch has a 201MHz processor, the Touch Diamond has a 528Mhz processor!
                  The Touch n ASUS has 64MB RAM, and the Diamond has 19x MB RAM!

                  IMO the ASUS is a brilliant phone for that price, but its not really a PDA... its a chocked device! Sadly no overclocking option exists as much

                    I got the Nokia N78.Didnt like the touch sensitive pad of i550.also the camera didnt have AF or the extra 1.2 megapixels.
                    Also..My dad forced me to buy a nokia
                    But i'll have to wait to get to a big city to get the gps running.

                      im meant the touch diamond only..was just comparing the gps function..that info is from a friend who has the diamond and his sister has the p320...as a package the p320 is okay not comparing it to the diamond.... but for a gps/wifi combo on a budget it is good value for money

                        Dude, N78? ok ... Reg. Samsung i550, some one misinformed you. It's a 3.2 MP Autofocus Unit, as good as any similar Nokia...

                        Although, N78 might not be that great in music, it's good in camera & it should be good for you ... Congratulations!

                        BTW for apps you can always see mobilesmania.com. Unlimited stuff for free anytime.

                          Dude !! congrads !! had the same doubt when i bought the N78 !! was a die hard fan of Sony Ericsson but had to let go of it for gps and wi fi !! as the 580i had a 5 mp camera but still !! very happy with the n 78 till now !! no issues except for the keypad !!! how much did u get it for ?

                                Since you never mentioned any features you need specially (Cam, Music, etc.) I'll list some good sets in the category ....

                                I recommend: Nokia 6220 Classic, N82, N95, (& N81 8GB for music & gaming only)..

                                For budget+Features: Samsung i550/ i560, MotoZine ZN5, Samsung U600...

                                If you want more clarity in suggestion, tell me your needs (Music good or not, Camera, GPS, etc.)...
