Btw, for normal day to day use, even a quad core snapdragon 400 does the job really good. No lagging for normal usage. Faster and better possessors are needed for high-end gaming.
Tell me about it, but don't we keep wanting more and more. Personally I don't think I may get to use 4G on this phone :P
Actually for high end gaming you need a faster gpu rather than a cpu which this device does have. The normal day tasks the dual core cpu can handle very easily.

First phone was a nokia 6030...then used 6600...both these phones were used by my brother earlier, and i got them when he bought new ones.

Got New Nokia 6303 3.2mp camera for myself in 12th std. Dad bought a Nokia 5235 4-5 months later, so exchanged it with him...heh.

Used it for a good 3 years, and recently bought a Nexus 5 32 gb, my first android.

All the phones are still in working perfectly. Nokia used to rock.

Samsung Galaxy S5 and Sony Xperia Z2. I felt both had satisfactory cameras and good music quality, so I might get them, although I'm least interested in the OS part of it.

But I'm seeing a disturbing trend in the market: Both S5 and Z2's Indian versions have NO 4G LTE support, that their international versions have, and even Rs. 20,000 phones have. Yes, both Sony & Samsung made multiple versions of their flagships, but left 4G LTE out of the Indian version....

As we know, 4G will be faster and most probably cheaper than 3G, making it a clear win situation for everyone who's using 3G right now.

And Indian crowd is not stupid. See how they blasted Samsung on Flipkart's page and sent the prices crashing by 20+% in just a month: Samsung Galaxy S5 Price in India - Buy Samsung Galaxy S5 Charcoal Black 16 GB Online - Samsung: Flipkart.com

So my question is, why are both Sony & Samsung not giving us the real deal? Suppose I'm ready in purchasing the international versions of these phones for say, Rs. 5000 extra, why would Sony & Samsung not agree to it?? Is it planned obsolescence they're thinking about?
Don't buy the S5 indian version at least. U can go for the int'l version though I'm not sure. S5 users on xda threads are themselves suggesting to buy the One M8 or the Z2. Indian S5 is lagging & heating badly. One M8 & Z2 are almost the same except the camera wich is way better on the Z2.

U can also wait for the LG G3 wich will come in 2 months time. Other equivalent devices (almost) dat u can buy wid a significantly lower budget wud be Z1, LG G2 & the Nexus 5.[emoji16]

First phone - Motorola C131(with Tata Indicomm in 2005).
              Nokia 2100 in 2007.
Sony Ericcson W395 in Jan 2009(unfortunately lost it in Aug 2013). One of the best phones for music through speakers.
Xperia L from Aug 2013. Very good mid-range phone. Completely satisfied. Does basic day-time photography well.
Apart from me, wife uses a SE ELM(3+ years) and father uses SE Cedar (2+ years).
Have become a fan of Sony over the years for the premium feel and sheer quality and pride of ownership.

BB Z10 for 18k is slightly on the higher side for the device. True it can run android apps, but that has it's own issued and bugs and won't be smooth experience and not all apps will run. I'd suggest you don't go for it unless you're a big BB os fan.
Also, it costed 43k more than a year back, a hell lot of time in smartphone terms. S4 was launched for 45k, you are now getting it as low as 27k.

I saw yesterday BB Z10 retailing for 14k @ eBay. Just go to the 40% off on mobiles section on eBay.

Buy moto/sony/samsung. Though nothing can beat moto g for vfm I guess. Don't hv much idea. Also, heard Xperia SP is also gud. Do check out Sony handsets as well. U'll love the smoothness & awesome ownership experience..

Thanks buddy. Will give S5 a skip in any case, considering this and absence of 4G LTE.

The thing is that 4G is not that "performing but expensive" option we make it out to be.

In fact, its very practical because its infrastructure costs are lower than 3G, plus running costs are lower than 3G, so basically you will get better plans on 4G than 3G. That's right, lesser money for more speed. 3G with its complicated infrastructure, and expensive implementation costs is going nowhere now.
Have you read government's plans on having 4G in every village? Why didn't they say 3G first, in all villages? Because the hassle is not worth it. 4g is the future.

As far as Coverage is concerned, if its near your residence & workplace, it should be ok for majority of users. And its the future.

I'm a gamer on Laptop, and with whatever little I have in my Nokia 808 Pureview too. I expect to do heavy gaming with my Z2/ S5, or whatever I will buy, and hence Snapdragon 800+ is what I'm after. I can check Nvidia's chip when it actually appears in a phone, let's see when that will be.

Phew! Apologies for the long post. Hope you get a thing or two out of it.
Thanks for the extensive read into the insight of what you experienced. This was quite an interesting read, and I agree with you.

But, although I have a DSLR (Canon EOS 600D), I am not able to carry it all the time, and hence I really plan to have a good atleast 8MP Camera in my phone too.
I can't even carry a music player in this era when most mobiles match them in quality for general listening.

Apps I won't use much except 5-7 important ones. Games, definitely. I'm a gamer, including a multiplayer gamer too. So, I need the processing and RAM in reality too. I don't change mobiles a lot, but somehow have saved from salary to get a future proof mobile.
I'm a heavy internet user too, so look where Sony & Samsung is taking us, without 4G LTE.

I had a talk with Sony on customer care. This is what they lie.... errr.... say on the matter:

We value the importance of your concern. We appreciate your interest in Sony Xperia products and services. (regular diplomatic BS)

In response to your query, we would like to inform you that Xperia Z2 does not support LTE Band in India.
Also, we would like to inform you that Xperia Z2 (C6502) is available in India.
The part in bold is a misrepresentation of the facts. Its clever use of words which makes it almost false.

It should be "The Xperia Z2 sold in India, does not support 4G LTE anywhere in the world, because it doesn't have the required hardware built in."

The problem is not with LTE bands in India, which, although rare at 2300 Mhz, will be expanded to the common standard of 1800 Mhz soon. I did a bit of more research and found that only this Indian model C6502 does not have 4G LTE, but the other 2 models (C6503 and C 6543) support many bands of 4G LTE.

My frnds had all the above mentioned cells except nexus. And i think the bloatware in the other cells is too much. Nexus is simplicity & power at its best. Its very clean.

What do other nexus users think??

I would suggest a nexus 5 to you...use it once and u will feel the difference, though z2/s5 may have slightly higher configs, but nexus gives more performannce. I can say this because i play a lot of heavy games like injustice asphalt etc. Just explore the option on nexus once.
