The main stand does not bang against the exhaust. Considering its resting at one place and has no movements, its just fine.

What i was trying to say is when the bike is dismounted from the main stand due to the spring while retraction it bangs against the silencer.

Most motorcycle problems are caused by the nut that connects the handle bars to the seat.

I have a very small and effective solution. Put a piece of rubber ( like the rubber on the brake pedal of a Discover) onto the part of the main stand that hits the exhaust. completely tension free and hardly costs 10 bucks. That rubber flew off after using for 2 months, got to get myself a new one though

          • The main reason why I dont think of the stand mount is because on the P220, the main stand is too low from centre of the bike and is the first thing to come in contact when you do a hard corner. So the first thing we recommend to throw away is the main stand to make it a better package, so then we really dont need to worry about this bit.

Joel it would be better if you can do something for this problem because people like me who will take their bike to 'Office' or even a college need to park their bikes in a public parking and you do require a main stand over there...so if you could please provide some fix for that..
Its better to take feedback from the users and improve for betterment..isnt it?

I agree with Aashish^^. I live in the gangetic plains, a hard corner happens once in 3 months the roads out here are flat and straight. even with my stock setup i dont mind my stand scraping, the sound just adds to the fun and i cant think of parking my bike in most places without a centre stand. with stupid children wanting to climb onto the bike like monkeys!
so if something can be done about the stand-exhaust contact, it would be really useful.
Biking is not about what you have between your legs, its all about how well you use it!!!!!!!

yes i do agree but what if in case of a puncture. What i normally do while dismounting the bike from the stand is i keep my foot on the stand extension so that the stand doesnt spring back suddenly.

hhmmm that is very good point. but as we have tubeless tyres, we need not remove the wheel every time to repair the puncture. at least the only puncture i had till date, was repaired without removing the wheel.
pls correct me if i m getting a something wrong.

I have already posted my suggestion. Theres no need of any welding/cutting etc. Just a brake pedal rubber stuck on the portion of the main stand solves the problem and dismount the bike any way you like.
