The CBR250R is getting into the full development mode this year. With Honda being really lazy about supporting us with parts and promisises, its hard for even order them on purchase, coz its just NOT available. The developments took a backseat simply coz of this. Lets hope things turn positive atleast going forward. We definetely need manufacturer support atleast for spares.Originally posted by FZERIDER View Post@ joel
u have done a lot of developments for the yamaha r15.. So now its a highly powerful bike.. The most powerful machine that u have is currently ur r15 (means full blown)
similarly after complete developments for cbr250r, to what extent the performance go up.. What can we expect with a full blown race concepts honda cbr250r.. Can u give some bhp figures..
From what we have done till date, we have pulled 2.15hp from the cylinder head tune and another 2.05hp from the exhaust alone. About 4.2hp in total over the stock 21.1hp at the wheel. We have not dynoed the headwork and exhaust together as a package, which we will do soon. The bump with the exhaust would be a little higher in the reworked engine. With the ECU now stock, its hard for me to utilise the full potential of this setup. We will report back with the same setup with bumped fuel pressure.
So So far we have clinched close to 26whp with the package. The Ninja 250R dynoed at around 24.5whp on the same dyno is lesser than our CBR250. Our last 0-100 sprint with me riding (I'm now heavy at 75kilos + gear) clocked 7.78secs. A lighter rider package would have been interesting to compare.
More serious developments on the CBR will take it much higher. So far everything has been built around the stock parts, being really careful and maintaining stock levels of reliability. This is the perfect package for touring and street riding. I enjoyed all my trips on this setup.
More to come later.sigpic

No off-beat or big project comes without its detractors. There are iPhone haters (me included) and also Windows haters. Even Shahjahan's son was not happy that he built the Taj Mahal and had him jailed.
You should do this not because there are critics or admirers but because there is a bike that could, with you, do better.

Joeled my my Baby Ceeber..
Got my CBR Joel'ed yesterday.
The following done :-
1. Porting
2. Custom Air filler
3. New clutch spring.
I am yet to take her for a performance check but the initial impression most noticeable is Smoothness across the rev range and torque gain, she now pulls comfortably even from 3 gear and 3k rpm, before i had to slip the clutch.
As per Joel most significant change will be at higher speed on highway n increase in fuel efficiency by about 10%. These two i am yet check.
And yes there is alil change in exhaust growl, it has become a Lil bassy n smooth, something i like.( i don't like real loud exhaust, the reason i have not gone for change of exhaust)
Changing to Motul FS 10W40 and MOTUL Coolant in my next service, will update on both.
Happy riding.
And yes, thanks Joel for treating my babe n waiting for more goodies from you soon.

Done about 1K after getting my bike Joeled. The bike has settled to a smoother n hushed sound, it is different from the stock exhaust + air filter combination.(I have changed only air filter, still on stock exhaust.) Performance wise as I have explained it is smoother now, FE has become better by about 3-4km, and definitely she feels torqueier than before. I was skeptical while going for the porting-polishing job, but now it seems it was worth.
Enjoying my ride.Once a Biker ....Always a BIKER

good one,
first of all, good wishes and congrats to joel. you are (race concept is) the 2nd surprise, RDdreams.com was the first one when i was trying to make my RX135 a flyer way back in 2007. since then i would say even today i have not got a good replacement for RX. waited disappointed with R15 & Fz16 performance,cbr250 not upto the mark, then waited disappaointed with ktm200(overall package not good),waited for gt250r(not a good for that price). is cbr250 bike is that bad i am getting to see so many bikes for sales ?.well, i was looking for a review about cbr250, i found this thread. i cannot wait for R4 or ktm350,my biking days are getting shortned everyyear (i am already 30 now).Joel is that not possible you give your bumpup bhp's to the customers part by part. insted of people waiting for you to give 30+bhp once. for example filter+silencer mods as one part, suspension modifications as second upgrade or whatever so. by that cbr250 riders get the ride satisfaction you also get rewarded for your effort for that part atleast. it is my opinion, just ignore if it does not make any sense.keep going, good luck for your efforts.Last edited by manz; 06-28-2012, 03:21 AM.

Never knew a single person can edit a whole engine to enhance its performance and fe
A engine which was made after years and years of R&D by a multi billion dollor company....
Seriously if a person can do it on his own he must be a einstine equelent of automobiles/bikes...

Ever heard of; John Britten, Stan Stephens, Erik Buell, Byron Hines? No? Then I suggest you look them up and do some research. Also heard the name A Graham Bell? His books on performance tuning on 4 & 2 strokes are considered bibles by performance tuners across the world. And his books are not some theory textbooks, they are a record of his hands on experience in performance tuning engines.Originally posted by lovish View PostNever knew a single person can edit a whole engine to enhance its performance and fe
