the reason is that honda makes a product that should last for ages even when an idiot uses the bike...

a joeld cbr will be reliable, no doubt, but still it will also demand some premium attention from the owners part..

plus, not many people are ready to pay for extreme performance. Just see the sale figures of the ninja vs the cbr :P

whoa, ninja is just overpriced!manufactured here it should have been in the first place to reduce that premium.I mean the spare prices caused my eyes to bleed :-o

with joel's mods let's see how much more it'll really cost to get n250r performance or similar.n250r otr is 3lac plus.

        • A drag with an Akrapovic kitted CBR and our Race Concepts tuned exhaust.

Race Concepts CBR250R exhaust system v/s Akrapovic system - YouTube

          As tested 3 days ago
          0-100kph stock CBR - 9.2secs
          0-100kph - Race Concepts CBR - 7.78secs
          Top speed achieved under 600mtrs - 156kph (speedo read - 160 odd)
          Rider - Joel Joseph

          As tested sometime earlier
          Stock Ninja 250R - around 7.9secs

Works on the CBR engine - tuned cylinder head, airfilter and tuned exhaust system. External mods - stiffer race clutch springs and tweeked front suspension settings.
Ultra reliable and needs NO special attention.
Will do another run with a few more updates and post up here.

          On board video coming soon

btw, the r15 big bore seriously rocks... Considering that you made a excellent bike better, and you have much more white hair now, I know that the cbr 250 will be much better...

best of luck for your endeavour... hope to own one of your big bores soon...

+1. My professional background makes me understand charts better than videos

A sweet bump in torque from 3k to 6k rpm would be wonderful for city riding.

Thats the real cream. Both with the cylinder head upgrade and also with the exhaust upgrade.

                          • Joel went through the complete thread, WONDERFUL job I must say.
Improving on a bike so optimized like CBR 250 is an achievement indeed.

May I request you to compile in a single post what all mods are you offering till now, and does any of it involves change of any internal engine component?

This may be important for people like me who do not stay in Bangalore, as, if a customized part replacement is reqd then it entails delay etc.....

In one of your initial post you mentioned a time frame of two days to complete the whole thing, is it same even now or with increase in amount of tinkering it also has increased??

From what I can recall, head mod & exhaust alone bumps the Bhp to 30; other than this there're no internal changes to engine components.

One of the early post says there's a tweak in front suspension also.

Like Jalva, I too am waiting for the dyno figures & one of the question by n_aditya as where in Bangalore the CBR's are being dyno'd.

                              • So far we have the following on offer for the CBR250R,
Cylinder head tweek, intake tweek, airfilter replacement, racing clutch springs, full exhaust system and front suspension tweek.
All this has so far helped us push a stock CBR from 9.2secs to a good 7.7secs to 100kph. That says a lot about the power gains from a 250cc single, with no component changes. A lot more to come by later.
