Joel, may be there's not much issue with the STD caliper kit, but, I'd like to have Nissin (more of faith). I'm fine with suspension (as I ride more on road & have no intention to visualize road as track). The reason I'm asking for Nissin conversion is because, conversion is one time & I can keep getting the ABS pads from HMSI as long as the caliper kit works fine. Which means, I don't have to depend on the mechanic for servicing the caliper kit for any consumables.

I've read somewhere that removing passenger foot pegs, saree guard, exhaust muffler and some other unnecessary things would increase hp as it decrease weight it think they were joking on that forum i was quite confused that's why shared this thought here juz to be sure that whether it's true or not

          That's some serious power bump!!

Worldover, brand new cars and bikes get tuned right off the showroom. We Indians have a different approach to it. I see that most are waiting for their warranty period or atleast to clock some 10-20k kms before they even think of some serious tuning. Or even for adding an exhaust for that matter, which is a bolt-on only.

We will go ahead with our CBR work. Lets see how it goes. I'm equally excited to do something on the CBR250. Nothing comes close to it, not even the KTM. So there is a long way to go.
I am tilting towards the CBR but what has held me against is the dynamics of the bike which is too wooden for my liking, there's absolutely no feedback from the rear end. Front end bite and feel is decent alright but nothing exceptional.

Whats your say on the KTM especially in the power delivery front and mod potential?

Decreasing weight will not increase hp but improve the power-to-weight ratio leading to slightly quicker acceleration. Be very careful of what you remove and what you substitute that with - think about safety and reliability.. A very rough test could be: say you can remove 5 kg by cutting items here and there; add 5 kg to the stock bike and see how much drop in performance you see. This will tell you impact of weight on performance.

                    Air-filter

just wanted to know the stock replacement air filter by race concept is foam type or cotton based.....just read an article in March issue of BIKE INDIA mag on page 81...." The new CBR 250R will come with a tri-colour..........additional features include a centre wet air cleaner with viscous element".....the current airfilter in use is dry paper element type (pl correct me if i am wrong)..so does this mean the new CBR 250R will have a new design air-filter.

                    • The stock airfilter is paper based. What I offer is a replacement filter which is oiled and made of the same material as the universal filter. Flows almost double of the std filter. Foam based filter is to slightly increase the airflow, but still cant match a performance filter.

                        • ^Nope. FYI, you cannot read the map. You can only peep into the parameters. A diagnostic tool will give info such as coolant temp, rpm, sensor errors. TPS readout, fuel correction and voltage.

                            • Reading the map will mean, getting the fuelling values under load across the rpm cells. Which is not the case here. Its only diagnoising.
