    Guys, you remember this ? ? ?

Hot News: Well the Pulsar's testing phase isnt over yet Just caught them testing today near corporation till Dehu road Pune at around 11am.

Hotter News: Had a test ride of around 6kms of the new pulsars.

And the Hottest News of all:

    Ride Report:

    Engine is of KTM 200cc.
0-60 acceleration is nearly same as of 220s.
Accelerated to 114 pretty fast. (It goes faster, I couldn't test the topspeed though due to traffic)
The gear box is different. So is the seating position.
The tank is quite big (i assume its for greater range)
I truly envy the lock set. Its just too good.
The petrol tank lid looked nearly the same as 220F's
The sprocket is much smaller than the KTM
I forgot to see if it was carbureted or another Fi. (Sorry)
I felt the handling somewhat like a Fazer but a little smaller.
I think cornering wouldn't be an issue in these.
Most importantly for Indian roads, they have an amazing ground clearance.
Additionally expect a price of 97k to 1.2L INR on road. (As per the riders and their test guru)

They did not allow me to peek-a-view of the bike under the cover
    A "RIDE" by Utsav..!
Is that specs (BOLDED) came some what close to the actual product??

    Seems to be good..!

Maybe the PuNS was tested with a KTMish Paint Job. Since everyone knew about the KTM, they could have easily gone about doing their testing undisturbed. The non-rear-disc variants were the ones they couldn't hide since they were actually different from the KTM in that regard.

How else would you explain this:

ok, today morning when coming from pune to ammby valley city, i saw those two camouflaged pulsars being tested around 7:45 AM. one rider stopped and turned around and went other way so continued my chase of the other rider who was ahead of me. i was chasing him on my pulsar 150. My Observations are -
the bike was little bit quicker than my pulsar150. his accelaration was better than my P150, but not by a very big margin.
he was ripping his bike hard and i was having slight difficulty in keeping with him after 100 kmph (on my speedo) then achieved 105 kmph when we have to slow down for toll plaza. after which he went other way, and i was in a hurry to reach office, so couldn't follow him.
it seems either he was aware of me chasing him, since i was wearing riding gear or otherwise he was too determined not to let anyone catch him, coz he was riding like he is john abraham with abhishek bachchan chasing him in DHOOM.
so i think the bike i was chasing was not more than 150 CC. my guess though.

Why couldn't the 23.5 Ps bike just zoom away from PrinceSirohi's 13.5 Ps Pulsar 150 UG3?

Improved FE and Power no.s will take care of the 'social stigma' of 'downgrading' from something like a 150cc (13.5 Ps) CB Unicorn to say a 125cc (14.x Ps) P125LC (Duke 125 was actually 'restricted' to 15 Ps).
so can we expect the launch of 125 cc and 180 cc with similar design?

Once they entered into a binding agreement, these products got push and they decided to develop bikes on this platform, when I say platform i'm talking about engine. Of course the chasis/frame used in Duke are from KTM, but in Pulsar Chasis/frame are different to that used in Duke. So, they share basic engine block, head is apparently different in both bikes and probably transmission.

Oh yeah, reagrding your yardsticks.. Pulsar is more into creating categories rather than competing with existing ones. Perhaps you remember when P150 came in it did wipe out competition, but for bikes such as P135LS/P200NS there is no competition as they are unique. On price, you may end up comparing with some bikes, but on performance you again need to look for a different set for comparision.

Why so much FE Difference between Pulsar 200 NS and Duke

Both Duke200 and pulsar 200 NS have almost similar features and its also said that pulsar uses same KTM engine. Both 200cc, both having top speed around 135-136 kmph and having very close 0 to 60 (infact pulsar has little extra weight)

Then how can pulsar 200 NS give mileage of 58 while KTM just 30-35 ? Is it that 1.48 bhp difference and just that tripple spark technoloy?

Segmentation of a particular product depends a lot on what is the target audience.

Anyways there is no good sense in making the old gen Pulsars when a worthy successor has been identified and is being appreciated.

*TSLC = Triple Spark Liquid cooled.

What now remains to be seen is can BAL pass the emissions without using Fi on the P250(which will eventually come) in the same manner they managed to with the P200NS (using their TS tech). If they do manage that, they will be able to undercut the competition by a BIG BIG margin and will surely be tremendous VFM.

A question to everyone ? will there be other versions of this pulsar as well i mean in terms of displacement CCs?
The above should answer your question.

    What A Beautiful Bike

Man I've never been a Bajaj fan but this latest iteration of the Pulsar has swept me off of my feet. I am simply in love with this bike and can't wait to read the ride report and see it in flesh.

If Bajaj continues to produce such products then the day is not far when Bajaj will overtake HMC as the largest bike manufacturer in India and will certainly gain tons of respect in India as well as abroad.

    Kudos Mr. Rajiv Bajaj!!

The point is, even with those breath taking pricing/power/mileage figure on papers the P135 was merely like another XCD135 in market.

Lets see how the P200 sustains.
I guess, you have some personal issues here. Like others, you too are trying to downplay what has been done by an Indian manufacturer on their own.

Have you seen OCC & other shows like it on the Discovery Turbo? Even when they purchase most of the parts from others but we still say "WOW!! What a bike ? " Why? because, even if they have sourced most of the parts together, they have given the bike a character of it's own. There are people who tune engines & performance boost too (like Joel). Don't we give credit to them instead of the maker of the product with whom he/they have played with?
Bajaj takes the engine block from KTM (in which Bajaj has 40% stake) & comes with a new version of it's own product, people like you will never give importance since this was done by an Indian Manufacturer & not by a Japanese or German manufacturer. This is not even just a STICKER job!! Utter non-sense.

I personally believe that creating a 200cc motorcycle is the right approach from bajaj as the first motorcycle in the series of motorcycles based on KTM engine. Creating the motorcycle of same cubic capacity with KTM 200 engine as the base would have less development cost and less risks for bajaj. A bigger engine would have increased the development cost and risk factors as well. Please correct me if i am wrong. So going for pulsar 200 NS is a safer bet. Pulsar 200NS will also be a learning experience for bajaj and will tell them how does it fare in day to day conditions after it starts to sell. There are several "firsts" in NS for bajaj so they have can't take too much risks with their first "all new" pulsar. And as Rajiv Bajaj has himself hinted clearly that bigger pulsars will come along with technical collaboration with KTM, what's the worry?
    absolutely, next grand one'll be a 350ns!!

Looks like a lot of folks don't know this.
Bajaj owns a big chunk of KTM.
Bajaj is bigger than KTM. Bajaj earns more than KTM. Bajaj sells more than KTM. Bajaj > KTM.
Bajaj put millions of dollars in KTM. It's because of bajaj, ktm has class leading products such as Duke 125 and 200 (who initially started as stunt 125 and race 125 on paper).

Lol People think of this as Hero and honda relationship. Hero is not the owner Honda. But Bajaj IS one of the owner of KTM. Bajaj put a millions of dollars in KTM and in trade they are getting tech and know how, nothing unfair.

Apple sources most of the components from Samsung and LG. Dell uses hard disks from seagates. Tata safari feature digital clock which is mainly made by Samsung. Asus graphics cards use chipsets from nVidia and AMD. German Skoda and VW imports CKD from Mexico and sell them here as German cars. All BMW Bikes use gear bikes which is made by Hero Moto Corp. Corollas and Almost all other old Jap cars started their life by reverse engineering German/europium cars. Intel used AMD chipsets and sold as Geniune Intel mobo. All apachi engines are suzuki fiero at the core. All use bearings from SKF. Motorola sources display from Samsung.

Nobody in this world makes products from ground up. Most of the times companies are dependent on competating companies for raw parts. It was like in 2000 AD they used to make products from scratch.

It's just pure business. Here I'm not a fan of Bajaj's but a rational person.

@sefanm: get the facts right before posting rubbish. Keep the quality of forum.

Looks like we have too many minors between us.
