Apart from the engine head everything below is the same as the KTM, including the block, bottom end and transmission. Even the oversquare bore stroke ratio is the same as that on the KTM.
Pulsar makes these power and torque ratings with a three spark plug configuration when the KTM uses just one.
Moreover there is a bike called Pulsar 135 - World's 1st 4 Valve DTSi bike, 68.1 km/l certified by ARAI.
With 13.5hp @ 9000RPM it did outperform most of the 150CC bikes which includes the FZ16. But practically did it make any sensation? I dont think any potential FZ buyer would have ended up with P135. It even failed to make an impact on 125CCs Sales chart, still the 8yr Honda Shine 125CC is the best seller in its class.
NS looks perfect on papers, like the P135 did, Not sure how the NS would steal the market.
It would be better if Bajaj makes their Pulsar product line a Static one like Honda, Yamaha, than dynamic.
