No offends but I fail to understand how that was funny. Because all of sunday, I was actually thinking what it is that Bajaj will implement in the new Pulsar that will raise the FE to acceptable levels above what the Duke seems to be managing. I ruled out Variable valve timing / direct injection / turbocharging and superchargingOriginally posted by lockhrt999 View PostOnce Pulsar has 100 spark plugs it won't need petrol any more because a single crank by all spark plugs will push piston just like that.

/sarcasm
because all of those would be expensive to implement and would in effect make the Pulsar more expensive than the Duke. Since those were the only mainstream CAR technologies yet to be implemented on production motorcycles, I was actually out of ideas. What Bajaj did was take one of the 'cheapest to manufacture' components in an engine head and avoided all that RnD costs and equipment costs. Anyways, why should it matter to the rider if there is a carb or an ECU at work underneath as long as it is a hoot to ride and acceptably green for the govt.?
P.S.: This year there will be a helluva fight for the 'Bike of the Year' award between the siblings
. Will they give it to the super high tech one or the ingeniously designed one?
Advice is a form of nostalgia.
Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth.

Holy Schmoly
This bikes looks oh so F-ing gud!!
I am regretting my decision of buying the r15 v2 alrdy. Need a buyer to take it off my hands now.
The rear end looks very much like the gt650 n however the front end is oh-so-gud-lukin. If at all i end up getting this babe the tyres would be the first thing to go out, I mean come on guys -Eurogrip - is that the best bajaj can do.
Nonetheless its a great moment in the history of the indian biking, proud of bajaj. Take that you Japs!!respect ma authoritae!!

So ,,
If this Bike is named as NS (naked Sports),,,, That means we have a Faired One coming in the Lineup, with FI and Full fairing and yes Projectors?????
If yes that would be a Hot Pick too,,,,,
And yes thats a Good Right up about the 3sparkplug thingy,,,,,explains a lot,,,,
Yellow looks like Bumble Bee

P200NS will be a deserving winner of "Bike of the year 2012" contest, just for the fact that it brought up a ground breaking technology. Duke 200 is outstanding bike, no doubt on that, but think of it, did they bring up anything new with Duke 200, everything that's used on Duke 200 is already pretty common in bikes, albeit in higher cc bikes.Originally posted by antz.bin View PostNo offends but I fail to understand how that was funny. As you pointed out, Bajaj took a cheap to manufacture tech and squeezed maximum out of it. This goes on to back the fact "Thinking simple is complex". How come competition never thought of this when going for FI, which is a good tech, but comes at a huge cost.
By the way, did you guys notice that P200NS got Bajaj symbol in just two places, they are tiny spots just above headlight and one more on speedo console, engine area now proudly displays triple spark!! I think soon they will remove Bajaj symbol from pulsar line-up.Let's bring down the monster of corruption to it's knees.. please visit http://ipaidabribe.com/

Yet the big story is the fuel efficiency which Bajaj claims will be around 58kmpl overall when the bike is ridden at speeds under 60kmph. Raise the speeds by a significant bit and you will still get figures above 50kmpl though anything above a 100kmph drops it to under 30kmpl. Yet that's good efficiency..............

exactly sir... but, to be fair to every bike fan, lets admit that at least fz, apache, r15, and p135 (a handful, as i said) are good handling bikesOriginally posted by antz.bin View PostOf course there are bikes lighter than 145kg available in India. But none of those(minus the Duke) make any horsepower even remotely close to what the Mean Unfriendly Decepticon does.

So, let's put down a quick list of components that can be shared by P200NS & Duke 200
1. Discs both front & rear
2. Liquid cooling parts
3. Spark plugs
4. Switch gear on handlebars
5. Basic engine block (as cylinder head is different)
anything else guys, I know there is a lot missing from my short list.Let's bring down the monster of corruption to it's knees.. please visit http://ipaidabribe.com/

This bike in yellow looks fantabulous.
Even though it looks like its an amalgam of many bikes, the design is neatly sorted. The power is equally good and justifies the look.6speed tranny and mono shock and the mileage are the most welcoming things.
Did BAL mention anything about gear ratios(is it a close ratio like duke200)?
Is BAL afraid of the sales of duke200 to launch this bike early or anything else?
Hope BAL will price this bike around 220's price(don't mind paying 90kOTR for this).Whenever i see bikes or cars i see adrenalin pumps instead of people carriers.Thats the way to define an automobile.

87/88k (OTR Pune) and 81/82k (OTR Pune) is 8k difference and not a 15k difference. are u sure it was 15k ?Originally posted by antz.bin View Postwill jack up the price by a cool 15k (that was the price difference between the old P220 Fi and the new P220 Carb back in July-August 2009).
For me the overall package is fantastic. I am expecting the bike to be not more than 90k OTR Pune , thats a substantial savings of 40 k over duke with a little less power and more mileage.
@MG/Inflammable : is the exhaust note any better than KTM ? Any idea if its a better handler than KTM ?sigpicThe Moto Cafe - India's first bike theme cafe @ Chandni Chowk

You I am absolutely positively sure the difference was 15k. The reason is the following storyOriginally posted by niks_devil666 View Post87/88k (OTR Pune) and 81/82k (OTR Pune) is 8k difference and not a 15k difference. are u sure it was 15k ?
. I still remember the day I went to PBK back in June 2009 to book the P220 Fi since it was my dream bike back then only to be told that it was discontinued
. Shocked as I was, I asked there has to be a new version to which the showroom staff replied in the affirmative. So I asked them what was the price difference between the 2 versions. The guy gave me another shock by telling me the difference was 15k
.
Since, at that time, the P220 Fi was priced at 93xxx, I safely assumed that the new one would be priced at 1.08 lac (same as R15 back then) and so as I didn't have enough money to make the purchase
, disappointed I was leaving the place. As a final gesture, I turned around to the sales executive and casually asked him the OTR price only to be given another shock
. The answer (Rs. 78,220/-) had me almost jumping with joy and I immediately paid the booking amount and left.
P.S.: All prices OTR Nasik. Introductory price of P220 DTSi OTR Pune was Rs.78,117.
P.P.S.: Some facts may have been twisted to make the narrative more enjoyable
. The actual booking was done on 20-July-2009 as documented below.

Here in maharashtra.. we r not being given test rides yet for the beast due to non approval of RTO.. so .. having complete faith in the owners posting in this thread.. i finally made my decision.
For the record.. there is no clear delivery date given. The guy said.. maybe 1 month maybe less... So Lets hope for the "Less" bit...
And also.. the price was revised from Rs.78145 to Rs.78220 OTR here in Nasik post budget.Last edited by antz.bin; 01-31-2012, 10:23 AM.Advice is a form of nostalgia.
