  • Girlfriend decides your bikes?

does your girlfriend play a major role in selecting your bike in the buying process.

i came across a few threads where bikers say that their girlfriends want them to buy this bike.

    such statements like-girlfriends like pulsars

and r15 is a romantic bike and etc

    so the major question-
if you are buying a new bike-will your girlfriend's choice play a major role?

((for me-absolutely not-its a man machine affair-keep the ladies away.they know nothing about biking.
who knows you may end up buying a PINK BIKE.))

Topic Approved and moved to General Biking Discussions.

Don't have a girlfriend. And my Ex didn't ever tell me what bike to get. It was her own decision not to interfere in my biking, probably because she trusted me with such decisions...

I usually put out the pros and cons of the bikes i have shortlisted for them to understand and then pick the bike that they think would fit me best. Colour suggestions would also be considered, what looks best on the bike and for me. Final decision rests with me. Ofcourse I would consider pillion comfort as I would like to tour with her alot.

Since none of the bikes i shortlisted are sold in pink, i dint have any issue.
        Regardless, Life shall go on.

Never ask a girl about biking itself!! They will even mess ur thoughts. I had an ex gf who made me feel that I wasted money on extra fittings on my car. They destroy the man`s feelings. But im not saying all girls are like that

2 years down the line, the hottest sportsbike on the planet came into the market.

My ex actually called my bike her "sautan", that says it all. I loved, I love my bike more. She was never the one who decided these things. After we broke up, I love her "sautan" even more now

Lol..., I don't think girl knows something about the bikes and our feelings to them...Even once I heard a girl was saying to his boyfriend while on a passion and pointing to a fazer that how can this bike go faster because of his thick and heavy tyre...

I had a discussion with the GF about the color thats all. Selection of the bike was purely me..

Actually she is one of the sensible types so not much of a problem or arguments or convincing . Pillion comfort and touring abilities were prefered so I took karizma R. Color was not much of a consideration for me so she recommended black and I took it.

Well she is 5 feet 8 inches tall and she panicked to get on the bike first time . But when she sat and I rode the bike and smoothly got upto 100kmph. And took a sweet corner she really loved and she poked me and said " Look at the speedo ". I slowed down and later she said the loved the ride ( ie Certificate of Approval Granted )
Cheetahs are faster but the lion is still the KING

Never let your girlfriend / Wife decide the bike for you!!

What if she makes you do this:

Bajaj Discover 125 'Chalta Nahin, Daudta Hai' TV Commercial - YouTube

Anyways.. Jokes apart, You know best what you want from the bike. Just to keep her happy, make her choose the color, because thats the bit that doesn't change anything in the bike's function.
Advice is a form of nostalgia.
Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth.

Had a debate with her regarding the color choice. She wanted a black one while I loved blue. After a lot of convincing she finally agreed to my choice. Till date happily riding my blue R15 v1. She somehow got adjusted with my blue machine.
Girlfriends really shouldn't interfere with biking. It should be left to the rider.
