Instead of doing this worthless expenditure ,in my opinion what you should've done is getting a second hand pulsar 200 '08 model after selling this 180.
The pulsar 180 ug3 looks ugly and outdated.
After getting a 200 you should have got a new cylinder kit from the pbk centre and after that you should've installed an aftermarket free flow exhaust . which would have fulfilled your desire of that attention grabbing noise.
And im sorry for being a little rude in this message, but i told what was in my mind . I hope you wont mind it

It does sound good while actually riding it, if not so much in neutral revving. I mean, when the load increases, the bike's revving tone changes into a slighty louder one.
Thanks for the video bro Sounds nice

Congratulations Samrath for finally getting what you wanted. Every bike/car after/during mods will have some problems but will also have amazing side effects

I dont know if he minds but I do. I would suggest you to read the thread and his older comments before posting. He was advised the same/similar thing, but this was and I think is his love and he wanted to make this bike faster. Not a P180 but HIS bike.
I know what you felt and feel samrath, have done some rare and maybe unnecessary mods on my P250 which would have been better on a R15, but I wanted to do it on MY bike.

You read it right. It's a 250cc bike now.

No I dont have a 230 and never did. Got a custom 250cc bore. Will update the thread once the fueling is set to perfect. Flatslide carbs are extremely difficult to tune.

@ Prince: will get a running video too soon... When the load increases the sound also increases...

@ Jasmine Rider: Will do so after the present footpeg and main jet problems are settled.

@ Abhay: Thanks buddy... Yes, mods do mean initial problems as you know from your P250. And congrats by the way for making it 250cc. Must be fast now, right?

No, I don't mind, its ok. Maybe "technically", you're right. But Abhayshanu clarified everything I needed to say to this message... Adding a bit to it...

I spent 5+ glorious years with my P180, learnt performance biking on it. I rode it up the college ladders, impressed college girls stunting on it, did burnouts on slippery train tracks (that doesn't wear tyre as much I tell you), I matured on it, I learnt wearing helmet and gears on it, I took her to salt flats in Sambhar lake, made videos of her, did a 570 kms/ day trip on it, overgeared her and took her to 131 kmph (speedo), removed the overgearing and installed K&N with #125 jet and scared the hell out of other commuters while blipping throttle, removed K&N due to engine related fears, installed R15 tyres and leaned on corners, we both got broken together in an accident, we both recovered together too, and recently I got chased by dogs as the RC exhaust was annoying them... And today, I washed her myself...

Countless stories only my heart knows, countless weather conditions only I felt, countless experiences where only I was there. Makes you fall in love with her.
If I told a happily married guy to divorce his wife of 5 years, just because more beautiful girls are available for marriage, he probably won't. Same here.

Yes, one more big bike will come to me soon (how big you ask? around 400-650cc range depending on service in my city), but the Pulsar will always make the first roar in my garage every morning I go for a commute...

Yeah i can understand your feel man, after i got to know that it is your first bike..
                      Same story happened with me(almost)
My first love was my first bike my pulsar 220 'S' which i bought at the age of 16 after struggling to convince my dad..
I too learned how to ride properly and after few months i got inclined towards stunt riding ..
Learned proper wheelie with brake control on it ..
When i used to go to practice with my friends, every other day i used to crash while learning.. and used to get some verbal dose from my dad when he saw my injuries.. but i never used to listen to him and continued to practice till i learnt brake control in wheelie..
And again after some days i went for practice , and that time also crashed .. both the knees got badly bruised, the bike's visor got f##d up and after seeing this, at that time my dad dint said anything to me and after two days he sold that bike without letting me know..
I was very heart broken at that time , cried also .. used to miss her badly (same reason memories attached) but i had to move on .
So when i turned 18 and got my licence, then i bought a used 180 classic model for learning advanced tricks like circle wheelies .. but i only learnt basic circle wheelie , after learning i sold it.. this time it was not that hard to sell it coz i learnt to move on :P
So now im planning to get a pulsar 200 '08 model for learning more tricks in circles..
That was my story, i wanted to share it so i shared it ..hope you dint get bored reading it :P

I too have the exact same experience as like you, with my Apache 150, earned it with my 1st salary, cleaned it every week, cant count the Pickup-Drops and Escapes, discovered 90% of the world that I know on my bike. I always wanted to retain the bike and its memories. The bike has done about 50K Kms, took the bike to TVS and replaced chain/sprockets, front forts,cone-set etc and brought back to the same condition as 1st time when I fired it. Now all I do is to take it for a short spin every weekend and meet my old friends.

What I advice you to do is to visit the factory service and do a complete checkup and replace all the required/faulty/to-be-faulty parts with stock ones as I did. No matter even if the frame was to be replaced, you should have done at the factory showroom and preserved your bike and memories for the next coming decades (coz no more stunts on them ). I would comment that modified your P180 is not a wise decision at all, coz end of the day you have slow poisoned your ride with these mods.

(An old Amby/Conty owner who loves his car, will always try to run it with factory/like parts rather to tune it to beat the modern cars.)

@dear xbhpian... no matter how much money you have, to buy a ducati or r1 or a busa, your first "own" bike will be always priceless for you. It's not the power that matters. That engine sound, the feeling of sitting on the ride, its something that remains unexpressed though words. So please

Btw, @samarth congrats bro!way to go
It would do you and the ride good if you use some engine cleanser fast. You can also do Detoxing. I know you are way way experienced than me, still just thought of sharing it I know its the run-in and i feel its the best time to do the cleansing job. Cheers. Ride Safe
