            • I certainly feel that the 200 NS itself is a much more value for the money you pay. Duke to me is not worthy enough for the extra money you pay. The Austrian company should not have tied up hands with Bajaj for their production. If they themselves were providing their bikes here, the Duke would certainly have had more impact.

                    Hey Guys,
I am a beginner, I will turn 18 in couple of months, I have never used a geared bike before. Only used scooters like Activa, Dio, etc. And have no source to learn geared bike first. And parents are against buying a used bike.
So I have landed upon duke 200 or pulsar 200ns.
Plz help me to decide, which bike would be better for me duke 200 or P200 NS.
I am 5'8" weighing around 73-75kg and well built.
So which one should be the bike for me.
                    No other bike suggestions please.

                          Money isn't a problem.
Things I am concerned on are
                          1. I have never used geared bike, so will learn and use any of these 2 only.
                          2. Weight of duke 200 is lighter than ns200. So is it easier to handle than pulsar NS 200
                          3. Duke 200 has more pickup? So will it be manageable?

(NS 200 I am considering as there are some rumours about 200ns Fi coming soon)

                            1. You will have problems for 2 3 weeks after than you will get used to it.
2.duke is very mangable for your height and weight , ns feels very heavy.
3 . don't worry if you don't do anything stupid no problems , getting used to the bike will eventually gels with the power and you can handle it . I have seen people starting in duke 390 / 200 etc .

From my experience ns is very hard to maintain because of its design , since ns is sohc and high compression engine it needs tappet adjustment about every 10 - 15k kms also i am not sure about the fi ( if it will be launched ) since it will be a low cost fi unit .

Duke have better hardware amd it is dohc .
So my suggestion will be duke

Duke needs tappet setting every 10000kms.even the duke is high comp engine.
Coming to the topic I would say hold as wait for 200ns.its a brilliant bike unlike duke who just begs you to Rev rev Rev and Rev.also its suspension is pretty hard so get ready for back and body pain.hold till 200ns FI is out.
Regarding SOHC and DOHC it won't matter to you at all...trust me you won't even feel the difference between the two
