Re: Pulsar 200NS Vs Duke 200
Actually I was more inclined towards 200ns only, but some said that as a beginner I will feel NS very heavy. Is it so?Originally posted by xplod566 View PostDuke needs tappet setting every 10000kms.even the duke is high comp engine.
Coming to the topic I would say hold as wait for 200ns.its a brilliant bike unlike duke who just begs you to Rev rev Rev and Rev.also its suspension is pretty hard so get ready for back and body pain.hold till 200ns FI is out.
Regarding SOHC and DOHC it won't matter to you at all...trust me you won't even feel the difference between the two
And yes I will learn riding on any of these 2 only. I feel that NS will be easy to learn on then duke. But its weights is what I am concerned on?
I have even heard that its even tall?

Re: Pulsar 200NS Vs Duke 200
Well NS is a good beginners bike.its weight is there but not that much . it's just a bit heavy from front side. NS had a decent initial punch to make you feel the lower.post 7000 ROM its a rocket it is not that tall.Originally posted by Aditya_007 View PostActually I was more inclined towards 200ns only, but some said that as a beginner I will feel NS very heavy. Re: Pulsar 200NS Vs Duke 200
OK thanks xplod. Just hope that Ns Fi launches soon. Then will take the test ride of both duke and ns. Until then will learn on someone else's bike.Originally posted by xplod566 View PostNS anyday.what a brilliant bike it is.engine is so hearted!its like your personal space
I personally feel that it was stupid move by bajaj to stop production of Ns and promote As. Some of my friends who were willing to buy Ns were left with no option than As. They are not happy with those looks.

Re: Pulsar 200NS Vs Duke 200
There is no VS with Duke in 200-250 segment. It has a character and pulsar doesn't even come close to it. If money is no issue, Duke 200, don't think twice. Cheers !!

It needs tappet settings every 10K ? I am touching 17K never did it and the service guy told me that it requires that setting around 25K or more. Please check.Originally posted by xplod566 View PostDuke needs tappet setting every 10000kms.even the duke is high comp engine.

NS is heavy compared to duke. NS is more of a calm bike and duke is not ( for me it's goodOriginally posted by Aditya_007 View PostActually I was more inclined towards 200ns only, but some said that as a beginner I will feel NS very heavy. Is it so?

, Personal choice ). There is no similarity in power delivery of these two bikes, you have to test ride to check what suits you. You will be spoiled by the mass centralization of duke which I would say makes the bike feel feather weight and with many horses beneath combined with good braking, you will have grin every-time you ride.

Re: Pulsar 200NS Vs Duke 200
Thanks for your opinion Faster, I don't really need comfortable, calm position as bikes won't be used by me for long distances for sure. So it will be duke. But will just wait for NS Fi.Originally posted by faster View PostThere is no VS with Duke in 200-250 segment. It has a character and pulsar doesn't even come close to it. And I have even heard that 2017 Duke will be a completely changed version?
Will this it get Abs?

Re: Pulsar 200NS Vs Duke 200
By calm I was referring to the engine, which shows urgency in case of Duke. You can do long distances on Duke no issues but NS would be more comfortable. Don't know about the ABS/2017 version. Know your brakes and braking technique well and you would not require an ABSOriginally posted by Aditya_007 View PostThanks for your opinion Faster, I don't really need comfortable, calm position as bikes won't be used by me for long distances for sure. Re: Pulsar 200NS Vs Duke 200
Yes a little lack in pickup.most importantly you will hear a tappet noise.but its recommended to do every 10000 kms.if you can't hear any noise then its probably fine.but one should do it everyb10k kmsOriginally posted by faster View PostOk and what will happen if it's not done at 10k ? Any thing I will notice or feel like lack of power etc?

Re: Pulsar 200NS Vs Duke 200
I hear some cluttering sound when bike is not running but when I pull in the clutch it's not there. Not sure if it's the tappet. Pick up is fine I guess. Will get it adjusted in next service at 22-22K.Originally posted by xplod566 View PostYes a little lack in pickup.most importantly you will hear a tappet noise.but its recommended to do every 10000 kms.if you can't hear any noise then its probably fine.but one should do it everyb10k kms
