1 : I haven't said that WP , FI , etc is rocket science I just stated my preferances.Read before replying to any post.There are other bikes in the world as well apart from your Duke.

2 : A modified bike is an exclusive bike among all the bikes ! Set aside your ego goggles & accept this fact.

3 : I didn't felt the fun in the duke.Maybe my threshold of having fun is way above yours...and If I can have the "fun" on the P 200 NS and not in the Duke , that's not your problem is it ?

4 : I did not comment on Duke's road presence.I said I don't like the way it looks...there is a difference between both the statements. + I am not a poser , I buy a bike solely for myself.

I can understand your feelings, as I saw NS for first time on Friday eve one can never understand how SLOW that Saturday, Sunday, and Monday till noon gone..!

the worst launch of ns in full india seems to be in kolkata... Its so damn irritatating you know yaar... you know i have already planned so many mods if i get the ns...

according to me a modded bike is a sign of an unsatisfied owner..performance mods can only harm the bike in every possible way ..

they want to make sure that the mechanics know atleast the basics of ns before launching it ..

The first part is true to a certain extent.
Well , I prefer only those mods that do not harm the bike a lot...like better tyres...weight reduction...K&N filters...etc etc

k&n is one of the most harmful things available...not justified for that price and mileage drop...reduces engine life...and most importantly not much power gain...it will make a bike even more peaky.... Its the sound which makes one feel that he is going fast... A properly tuned freeflow exhaust is the best starter mod for any engine with massive power and mileage gains.... And i dont consider tyres as performance mods...its for my own safety... Next in line would be stiffer clutch springs which also increases the wheel horse power... Modding a ride is immense fun...the fun of whopping the @$$es of bigger bikes with smaller bikes is immense... Which is more fun to you and insulting to your opponent.....Smoking a cbr250 witht duke or smoking a cbr250 with a 200ns..?(just an example) then the cbr guy with curse himself after reaching home its fun to watch small bikes taking on big bikes...
P.S. My friends modded apache rtr160 can eat a 220 for dinner till 90... and its just with a local (underbelly) exhaust... Anyone interested in pics? I can post it

Well...from the reviews I've gone through so far..they said that K&n improves fuel efficiency , performance + engine life...though one of my friend who owns a 220 with k&n filter says that the mileage has dropped by around 5-6 kmpl...I doubt about any place here @ ahmedabad who can provide a properly tune free flow exhaust or stiffer clutch springs...because here @ ahmedabad performance mod is not that popular , only fabrications are...

I don't wanna spoil the naked look...but I would really like a better monoshock side mud guard...the one highlighted in the pic...

Also the front mud flap or whatever its called...a shorter / smaller & more close to the tyre would look better...

Anything with the handlebars??

Nah...I really really love the riding stance of the NS , so I'm not gonna risk that part...might turn the aluminium finished parts to black though...

I still not have seen the bike in person. (since still not available in Kolkata)
But as per the pictures the raised up split handle bars doesn't look good to me. And i personally believe a naked street fighter must not have clip-ons. Rather straight tube fits well.
When I get the bike, will see the possibility if swapping the handle-bars with that of Fazer or Duke's can be done. Alredy have a Xbhpian who is ready to swap his Fazer's bars with NS.

Well , I think that would be a tricky affair...cuz the handlebars are very close to the fuel tank while fully turned...from what I remember there is barely a gap of an inch or two...plus I don't think the SVC guys will do it so easily, I mean here @ ahmedabad they are not even ready to take the tyres & hence I can't upgrade them to Pirellis right away...

Ya, it wud be tricky.. As i said will do the mod only after checking and rechecking about the fitting..Else will remain satisfied with the stock.
SVC guys wud never do those mods buddy.. Anything that is not recomended in the manual - be it handle bars or tyres will not be done by them.(Atleast not OFFICIALLY)
