Pulsar 200NS Vs Duke 200

As you all know, 200NS has hit kolkata and me being a potential buyer finally got a test ride after a fight with the dealer... Now its time to say how the bike feels:
Lacks power heavily...where did all those23.5bhp and 18.3nm torque go? Low end torque is very poor...less than even the pulsar 180 in my opinion.. Pulls from after 6k rpm only but there is no feel of the power even at 8k.. The rush factor of220 is not there... Engine is super smooth, gearbox a delight a use, rear disc is too sharp, front disc have very good bite and power but lacks the lever feedback of the 220...
Bike is light, very flickable, light front end but not as light as duke, fz or rtr... Handlebars lacks the road feedback of the 220, sitting position is very commuterish, rider seats are very wide and soft, pillion seat is also good... Handling is good but nothing groundbraking.. . Expected better handling with a perimeter frame... Stability wise 220 is much better even at slow speeds... Didn't get to try cornering.... Tyres are a definite let down.... Seat is quite high..., killing the engine kill switch switches off everything...ev en the console... pilot lamps or console light dont work untill you switch on the engine...
I dont think its an upgrade for a 220 owner...
So which one is more fun to ride..220 or 200ns?
Its the 220 for me anyday which is more fun....
But i will be buying the NS still coz its a new bike with some nice features...
The above post is my personal opinion only...no offence to anyone
So which one for you? 220 or 200?
P.S. People calling the ns brakes to be better than duke should see a doctor....
seriously yaar...
Anyways this is a total straightforward and honest review and nothing is biased...

low end pull is weak in short stroke engines and it further gets amplified without FI's throttle response .. i forgot to test the nose dive of ns during braking ,, how is it ??..Originally posted by Rahulbarik View PostAs you all know, 200NS has hit kolkata and me being a potential buyer finally got a test ride after a fight with the dealer... ns is much better at corners and traffic zig-zags when compare to p220 .. p220 never feels agile ...
having owned fz in past i am still surprised thinking,, how yamaha made the fz agile, light, flickable and stable all at the same time by just using a basic diamond tubular frame ...
p220 gives you that feeling of power with its exhaust note and initial torque kick which ns lacks ..
the main reason why i didnt buy ns is because i owned fz for 2.5years and then i test rode duke just before riding ns ... i would have probably bought ns if i had not test ridden duke .. for me additional 40k for duke over ns seemed very cheap for what i would get in return ..
i would pick ns over p220 cuz of the tech ,, features and also cuz p220 shows its age now ..

exactly the same reasons why i am going for ns over 220...its old... And i NEVER said 220 is flickable than ns. Ns is much more flickable than 220 but 220 is more stable... And ns nose dive is well controlled...not as gud as a fz... Handling of ns is nothing exceptional... Its just good...not scary... Even i feel how yamaha managed to get the fz so right... What i still feel is with a perimeter frame and such a long wheelbase, the handling leaves a lot to be desired... And would have loved bit more feedback on the front brakes...Originally posted by Rohan200ns View Postlow end pull is weak in short stroke engines and it further gets amplified without FI's throttle response .. i forgot to test the nose dive of ns during braking ,, how is it ??..

Got my Duke 200 today - its a bloody Lamborghini
The Duke 200 I got,
Is Ultra Fast,
Is Ultra refined at gears,
Gets hot in slow traffic,
Snatches under 1500 rpms.
Has already clocked 67 kms - under motoman's break-in.
Made a Pulsar 220S feel insecure in just a single gear 4th for the Duke- I was just loading and unloading the engine as per motoman's method
This bike is a high end Streefighter for sure.............maybe the best in the KTM Duke family too..........so it seems
My cousin too took a test ride and his mature decision of going for the 200NS changed to the boyish decision of going for the Duke 200 and bath in adrenaline !!!

yup its true handling and fun is still there with 220..one thing I forgot to mention is the RVM...man may be I ride a Fazer for that also..the RVM in NS is very bad and poor in terms of visibility...i really need to bend my head for the complete view of road....and about brakes its good but not at per as R15 or Duke....not at all....its like 220...
I have shown my friend what is flikabiliy when I rode with pillion (with him) and NS didn't came near to it....should have done better with handling....in terms of power delivery...low end in this case is good....not better than fz's but better than R15 or CBR....its just in the middle....Heart Meets Soul when you ride...

rightly said bro....200 is better in terms of tech and newbie feel....but what I wouldn't agree with you is the cornering ability of 220 in respect to NS ,,,...NS is flickable than 220 but in cornering 220 is more stable...thats what I felt...and yes...Yamaha is Yamaha when it comes to handling.....I can always say..if my Fazer had a 200-220 cc heart with a mere 4bhp power more it would have been the best....man the handling part is undoubted in this fazer..which NS lacks....Originally posted by Rohan200ns View Postlow end pull is weak in short stroke engines and it further gets amplified without FI's throttle response .. i forgot to test the nose dive of ns during braking ,, how is it ??..

my fingers and palm is very big..so never felt like that in any bike till date...Originally posted by dipxmebh View Postdid you feel the engine heat from 10feets away????:P

really tyres are miserable today also rear tyre gone off track
n also very hard to reach to indicator switch
heat is there but not as other people say....its definitely there,...more than ZMR, R15 and CBR...may be coolant need to be changed in different brand...
Indicators are also quite good to reach,,again big fingers...

bro...that is the reason Yamaha is the World champion in Moto GP without having the most powerful bike....the handling scores more than 100 in Yamaha...I personally tested many bikes but the feedback and handling is unmatched with Yamaha...Originally posted by Rahulbarik View Postexactly the same reasons why i am going for ns over 220...its old... In our short TD (by me and @toxicbiker), the heat wasn't felt on our legs or anything..
When the bike was put back on the Showroom, I checked the engine heat by keepng my finger on it, and it did felt hotter than any other engine would have expected to be..sigpicRelationships change, evolve, and it goes deep.
Only thing I can say - "The storm is coming"
