  • The design has to be different than the current RTRs otherwise there's no point in launching a bike with a different engine block.Or may be they are contemplating a half-fairing version of the apache, now don't ask me how it will look!!

      Did they also mention about probable launch dates?
      oops, forgot to mention that. The company says we could see the bike in a month. not going by it but still.

        • @sai
          Going to be TVS's way of "viral marketing", are they going the whole hog in claiming some benchmarks??

          Remember before the RTR launch there was this rumour/claim from TVS about the RTR being faster than the *P180!!

          *P180 rider weighing 5kg less!!

          @payeng
          2-3 months back there was this news that they will be launching a low cost 125cc probably to take on the XCD/Heat.I wonder how come we are not able to hear anything from them on those lines, now!!

                Exactly my point. The bike has to look different from the current RTR. Otherwise, no would give it a second look!

                • @MACH50: dost, when i said alright, i didnt mean that its alright to live with current crop of motorcycles (leave R15 out of it). I only meant that let's wait for the motorcycle to get launched and then we'll see how good it is, alright

                  I had ZMA for nearly 5 years...and even I am pissed at Honda and HH since they haven't really done any justice to their flagship motorcycles. Like Yamaha, even I want Honda's racing DNA into their Indian motorcycles.

                  So I am on the same page with you

                    New TVS bike

                    will be a 180cc.
                    Initial versions only carb.
                    Design wise, will be similar to the rtr ( maybe wrong )
                    shares its engine components with a very unlikely vehicle form the TVS stable.

                    cheers,
                    sai
                    sharing engine components eh.? this is going over the top but is it the TVS KING the autorikshaw..but TVS king is 2 stroke so highely unlikely. whatever it is hope it does not share parts with a scooty!

                    • are we sure of this news? I had read somewhere that the Pgm-Fi tech developed for lower displacements was only for engines of 125 cc and below. Ofcourse I may be completely wrong here

                      • ^ Honda already uses the PGM-FI for its 125cc and 150cc scooters - Pantheon/Pantheon 150

                            But I'll be more than happy if Honda launches Unicorn with:

                            - Digi console
                            - PGM FI and slightly more performance oriented tuning
                            - Better(may be tubeless and borader) tyres and some looks upgrade
                            - if possible at all, a bit of weight reduction

                            in <80k(On Road) .. which, I guess, is very much possible if we see RTR FI in 75k (on road in bangalore) :Wink.

                              Exactly! I think I have a similar wish list. The only thing that I would add to the above goody list would be seriously sporty lines with rearset footpegs and not a boring commuter like look. Imagine seeing your old grandpa being dubbed as an expert MIG pilot!
                              Hard to believe it as it sounds even though it maybe true!
                              Cheers!
                              ..::Bala::..

                                Yes, rear set would be really nice .. the most important is that they should launch it ASAP i.e. may be around new budget time as they'll sure be getting some CANDY from the govt. as an auto industry incentive in the next budget.
