Yes now the higher CC bikes are also considered in the motorcycles with gear category... As @ken da earlier said, out of 1 lakh bike sales in india there may be only 1 or 2 or max of 5 R1's/Busa's/CBR's sold... even government doesn't know there are 1000+cc bike's in the world(LOL)...
if R1's and CBR's will be popular as splendor, boxer... there can be another category for license for the premium bikes(may be 600+cc bikes)...

One of my friend asked me onces whether there are bikes more than the power/CC of the bikes available in india(he own's HH CD deluxe). i said there are 1000+cc bikes in the world... he said no chance... and i am kidding...

Even now there are many people around us thinks the bikes are a means of cost effective transport medium from place A to place B...

That sums it up pretty much. Just that you really have to watch out about which country you speak. (The Netherlands considers everything above 50cc a motorcycle.) But I think all this, while interesting, is OT.

So, let me sum up some of the stuff I've heard here, recently:
    - The allways illusive Ninja 250R (might arrive, but when and at what cost?)
    - The still vague new P220 & P200 (maybe not as much of a speculation just a waiting game.)
    - R125 (Never going to arrive, we've got R15 which is for all purposes better a fit for here.)
    - R6
    - A 250cc Honda (Twister?)
    - Noise about a 250cc Suzuki (now that would be a surprise.)
    - New 150cc Honda

Anything I missed? Or perhaps even some hard evidence on any of these?

@ blistering intelligence: I can confirm that there is no such rule here. My License Trainer said that government includes all such bikes under the category "Motorcycles With Gear" ... That's it, you are eligible to ride R1!

Correct me if wrong anywhere ...

In many other countries, if you've got a car license you're also allowed to drive 125cc motorcycles. Thus the fact that they launch 125cc bikes in Europe and other places. They could easily launch a 200cc motorcycle, but in that case they would lock themselves out of a large market.

In that case, India is much liberal i think.. AFAIK here in India you don't need any special DL for riding litre class bikes? Am i right Ken da..

Jokes apart, when are you buying your new bike man? Are you waiting for the new Honda 150?
Man .. I am waiting for what not --

    - First Stunner FI disappointed me
    - Second waiting for RTR 180 for test ride (which is reported to be a good bike better than any 150(except R15, I think)/180 in the market)
    - Third FI's reported issues are giving enough -ve confidence about that bike
    - Honda's illusive 150
    - Yamaha's more illusive 125

And above all these, recently I didn't feel any urgent need(except my own urge to buy one) for a bike.

^^ From the pics, infact the engine finishing looks better than any Indian bike in the country. As for the red springs, yamaha gladiators are coming with red springs since they became RS/SS!!!
