2009 Speculation thread: What bikes could be launched?

Diwali or no Diwali, bike manufacturers should get off their ass and start giving some good new products for the masses and for the more passionate bikers. It doesn't all have to be the same old thing recycled again and again. (*cough*red*cough*paint*cough) What is it that we've been getting recently?

I know, we're not where the real money, and that's the issue. They make more money selling tens of thousands 100-150cc motorcycles then the small number of 150+cc motorcycles will ever get them.

So the launch of a bike with any sort of goodies, be it monoshock, fuel injection, or even larger displacement is nothing more then a PR move with no expectation of really making a lot of sales.

Still we can hope. Maybe some companies will actually give us what we want.

AFAIK only Hero Honda insists on new product launches around Diwali !! That too with a free gold coin!!

But their two biggest launches CBZ and ZMA weren't around diwali !!
So we wait till Diwali then !!

Ken da i meant the one that may come to India. Correct me if i am wrong but i dont think Yamaha would launch that same R125 in India at this point of time (If at all they do launch!!)

It is definitely going to be a little bit tweaked what i believe...

What about yamaha actually doing a reverse of it and discontinues the R125 and launches R15 internationally. In its full glory, 22 BHP et al. !!

They all are on their way........ please wait....... all these vehicles have to travel a lot ....... May be by Diwali market will be flooded by all the products.........

n Hero is working on Puch with 60cc engine..... More power more mileage........
TVS is working on Luna...... better looks n more stability at high speed......
Bajaj is working on M80....... world class technology at Indian price.......

And a bigger engine... I would seriously like to see Honda do a 200cc fuel injected engine. And no, though I like Honda, I'm not a fan boy. I'll take a good bike from any manufacturer. (Bajaj, do you hear me? How about a P220 with monoshock and some other nice goodies, real soon. )

I was talkin bout the changes, it might have keeping it a 125 cc bike !!
Bigger engine is an addition every Indian bike can do with and hence I didnt go thr !!

I am game for R125 at around 80k , if they can launch it here with same look and may be a bit tweaked(read indianized) engine

Yeah sure. The YZF R125 is a premium sports bike for premium countries, priced at over 5000 US$. I do not see the reason why they would sell it to us for less than 1/3 the price.

YAMAHA are planning on a 125cc to compete on the lines of STUNNER and the likes. But IT WILL NOT be the R125. Why do u guys need an R125 anyway when u have an R15! And yes, the R6 is also slated but thats not until 2010 Oct. And oh yeah, this is not just heard. This is from YAM insiders. And this is ALL I can disclose at the moment!
