  • Pricing for the RTR 180 hasn't been announced yet.. but as mentioned in this thread earlier, TVS will probably price it slightly higher than the RTR Fi 160.. which will make it tantalising close to the ZMA pricing.

Top speed mentioned in the video is 125 kmph.

Racing and Only Racing seems to be the single minded focus behind the development of the RTR 180.

Anyway here are a few screen shots from the NDTV Raftaar Video.

Note the interesting rear fender design

Now if the additional 1.3 bhp and 20cc actually makes the bike one of the fastest on Indian roads. Then what is the problem. It's just not another psuedo performance motorcycle which looks like million dollars but hasn't the go to match !!

The problem!!! the problem is that this is just an overclocked RTR 160, and in no way should be priced a premium such of karizma...if it had brought new technologies with itself or even some decent fairing, the price could have been justifiable...and ya plz name me a bike you mentioned to have a million dollar look but has no perf to go with it, I bet your list will be EMPTY...

After watching Raftar video i agree with you. So the news on new Flame & Sport may also be unauthenticated.

                  Deleted my that post.

I guess it will be priced at par with new P180.

No one seems to be interested in the torque, the RTR has 1.31 kgm and the RTR 180 has 1.55 kgm. Is it kgm or nm ?

I dont think the bike is worth 78k-82K, where as the RTR 160 is 66K. Most of the RTR owners can get their bike converted to 180, change the stroke and you have a 180.

Prasad has been having this setup for almost 1 and half years. He belts almost all the bikes that come his way

u r right. What things ned a change for the RTR 160 to become RTR 180?

                          - crank assembly
                          - carburetor
                          - cam shaft ???

The first two would be available for Rs 5-6K (just a guess). That is to replace them with the existing ones. For TVS to give those instead of the ones given in the RTR 160 would cost a few 100 rupees at the max. I believe I am not horribly wrong here.

So, keeping aside those subtle changes and the rear tyre, performance can be upped easily by any existing RTR 160 owner. TVS should price the 180 at about 3-4K more than the 160. Yes, lesser than the 160 Fi.

+100. I dont think the crank needs to be changed, just the stroke. We need to see if the 180 has a diff cam profile than the 160, else even the existing cam will work. Forgot to mention abt the carb, a bigger carb is def required.

Prasad & Joel plz chip in, its getting too technical now .
