  • ^^^ I personally didn't find the review very good.
I guess I have to ride it to know how good it is.

      • ooooh looks good....!

I would have preferred the stock rear mudguard.....rather than the more covered one....

          • well, the bike is phenomenal and i am eagerly waiting for it.Look at that tailpiece..awesome man!!..it'll surley make you stand out of the crowd..

but hey,did you see the performance figures??..TVS claimed that 0-60 will come out in just 4.15 sec.......4.15 sec!!!!!!!..thats faster than any other bike in the country..and the top whack is near to 125kmph!!!
Though it's being claimed by company and changes are possible when it'll be tested by journos but still they are mind-boggling...a big threat to pulsar family and other big boys in the business..
If you ride like there's no tomorrow...worry not there won't be!

            • Pictures of TVS apache RTR 180
Within a fortnight from now, TVS will launch the much expected apache RTR 180 (known as RTR menace). The new apache RTR 180 is powered by a 177.3cc engine. It is not fuel injected but a bored and stroked avatar of popular 160cc mill. TVS engineers have given a lighter crank, lighter magneto and a bigger carburettor for quicker engine response. We expect the 180cc motor to offer better low- and mid-range torque. TVS claims the new apache RTR 180 to reach 60kmph from standstill in 4.15 seconds and top speed as 125kph. TVS apache RTR 180 produces 17.3PS which is slightly higher than the new upgraded Bajaj pulsar 180. TVS has also worked on mechanicals to improve the dynamics of the race-bred RTR. The wheelbase is increased by 30mm for the improved stability. The brakes are carried forward from apache RTR FI - 270mm petal disc at the front and 200mm disc at the rear. Apart from the change the heart and mechanical changes, there is very little to distinguish between the RTR 160 and RTR 180. The new apache RTR 180 gets larger sized RTR decals on tank scoops and removable rear mudguard. It also gets a new white back tachometer. TVS new apache RTR 180 would hit the road in next 15 days we expect the new apache rtr 180 to be priced around Rs70,000

                • Had a word with the officials. The bike should be in showroom by the end of this month or beginning of next month(Atleast we can have a look at the bike). The wheelbase is 1320mm an increase of 20mm.Weight will be 137kgs which is just 1kg more than 160cc RTR. Boy o boy will it be a scorcher or what.

Just waiting to get my hands on that white RTR.

Nice Info. but any info on pricing ????
this is really tricky for TVS , price it below 160 FI , and that will kill it.
and if its priced abv 160 FI , VFM comes down.
                    Lets see what TVS does.

I think it should be priced a bit below 160 FI. It won't kill the 160 FI because people who want latest technology in their bikes and those who want better mileage will still go for it Pricing it above 160 FI is absolutely unjustifiable IMO.

R u sure wheelbase is 1320mm( same as flame).. According to bike india wheelbase is increased 40mm , according to overdrive increase is 30mm.. Current RTR's wheelbase is 1300mm.. Which means 180 wheelbase is 1330mm Or 1340mm.. But 1320mm? If it is 1320mm they can share the swingarm b/w flame and RTR..

They might have measured wheel axle distance from pivot , which may vary with chain slackness setting.

                              • I think it would be better if they have kept same block as of rtr and used apache crank shaft. the bore x stroke would be 62 x 57.8.
it will be 173.3 cc bike then with 10.3:1 comp ratio. almost equal to R15. Only thing would be we would have to use Power or Speed petrol then for carb. version.
