• Re: The story so far.. My Honda CBR 250R

    Hi All

This is my first post on xbhp so pardon me for any mistakes / omissions.

Previous bike GS150r bought in 2011 and still going strong.

    Now bought a 2018 BSIV model cbr250 ABS, 7400km run for 1.5 L.

Immediate repairs: Had to replace the coneset and clutch wire, and tighten the chain.

First owner had serviced the bike at ASC and changed engine oil ( FS ) thrice but the bike feels rough, vibey and bit underpowered.

After reading through all wonderful posts in this thread which are full of great knowledge and information, I'm planning to use HDEO, just placed an order for 5 litre Rimula R4 from Amazon, would buy FZ oil filter from Yamaha dealer, gasket and drain bolt washer ( or is it O ring ? ) from a Honda dealer.

I tried earth wire mod myself, opened 2 LHS fairing ( below front seat at left side ) bolts with Allen key but the fairing didn't come off would appreciate if someone can share the steps or no of bolts required to open the LHS fairing required for earth wire mod. Most of the videos on youtube are for opening of full fairing, so not that useful.

I'm from Pimple Saudagar Pune, please also let me know of a good and experienced CBR mechanic / garage in the vicinity.

    Great Regards

Hey guys, I'm recently facing an issue, I've a second hand 2017 CBR250R ABS and it had run ~6500 KM's till date.

I'm currently running on Shell Rimula R4 Mineral oil (~700 KM's).

The issue - there is a loud noise from the front area (like a stone in a tin can) when I accelerate the bike, especially when without changing the gears, or on a linear incline.

And this happens only when the bike has become hot (like riding for half an hour and then this noise starts coming).

I haven't observed this noise coming doing the same things i.e. acceleration and/or steady incline when the bike hasn't reached ideal temperature (3 bars), it comes only after it has become reasonably hotter.

No specific RPMs or gears observed.

      What can be the issue?

Can anyone help me as to from where to source a few spares (fairing parts) for my cbr 250r? One of them is the rear silver panel (photo attached) and the panel beside right side of the petrol tank. I'm from Hyderabad, Telangana. Any service centres which have these parts, or have helped other cbr owners in Hyderabad, please let me know. Click image for larger version

You can Respray the parts and they will be good as new. Please post this query in the Ownership Experience to get wider exposure and solution to your query

A big thanks to PSR sir and shv18 for sharing such a valuable information regarding the earth wire modification,in fact i tried it on my bike just as a precautionary measure but i was in for a big surprise .....drastic improvement in low and and mid range....couldn't check the top end though, throttle response is much more sharper.

I'm also working on this DIY. Got a 10sq mm wire but couldn't get the proper size lugs from any neighborhood hardware shop.
From where did you get these lugs and what are the specificatons like diameter of the lug? Thanks in advance

The Lugs are any Bike battery connection lug. You can source SWISS make lugs for Pulsar battery connection from any automobile shop. Please do look at details shared in the write up on how it is connected for clarity.

                              • This is an amazing thread.

I have been a CBR 250 R owner since 2011 and have recently completed 1L kms.

The love I feel for the machine and the moments I have spent on the saddle, can't be expressed in human language

It's a legend in every aspect!
