will putting that parallel resistor increase the power consumption?
Yes, by a little. That is why all off the self LED units come with their own flashers. Do this for the looks, not for power saving.

    • mann, i tried a lot fixin white led instead of parking bulbs but something or the other happens. Only onw works and other gets fused. and this arrangement of using a resistor is just too complicated and moreover it's even permanent. can anyone tell another way to fix it. probably by giving it a earthing. may be the earthing will do, coz once i market fitted the led's on my tank. PLS help fixing the led's with a proper arrangement which is parmanent tough.

        • Folk's,

See the attached picture.. This can be a design too, I hope this will look good once done perfectly... Can only Imagine now..

Use of clear glass will benefit.

          • looks good... the indicators will not take that many LEDs though.. simply not enough space!

good, but i 'm having a unicorn and this wont suit, as the tail lamps are bigger..i was thinking of a design like the cbr150's for my unicorn. Its not led, but a similar design with leds...
2 strips alone might look good for the indicators...

                      i have attached a picture...

currently the design in my mind is simply two rings of leds like the one in cbr150, but if i go with that design i need to fabricate a pcb, as we cannot place the leds in perfect round shape in the normal dot pcbs.

After working with SMDs I can suggest SMD LEDs for the purpose. In a single indicator unit more than 50 units of SMDs

Are these smd leds available in the market??

What are their cost like? If the costs are similar, its is certainly better then normal LEDs.

@fayad555 - PCB is a must if you want an evenly spaced arrangement that looks professional.

                              yes...
what i told is that a custom fabricated pcb with points in required places would be better than a normal dot pcb, if i need to place the leds in perfect round shape.

                              • I am too late to community. Hats off to abhi. I have got one more idea, can we use a single LED with two filaments (the one which has same ground point and two different leads for the positive) off course both should emit red color. So that by connecting one lead to the parking light circuit and controlling the voltage we can make it dim and other lead to the brake light circuit and providing more voltage to it we can make it glow brighter. By doing this we can use complete space available in the tail lamp for illumination. And one more suggestion, we can use reflection tape on the circuit board to make it look more brighter. The small LED's used in cell phones are much brighter i guess. Correct me if I am wrong in any piont of my view. I am still a newbie.
