Help/Info required for transferring bike to a different state.
Dear all,
I want to transfer my Yamaha YZF-R15 which is registered in Mangalore, Karnataka to Mumbai, Maharashtra where I have now shifted.
I bought this bike when I was studying in Mangalore and now that I have shifted to Mumbai, I want to re-register it here.
I'm aware that an NOC is required to be issued from the current RTO towards the other state's RTO. When I asked a few agents for assistance, almost all of them suggested me to refrain from this and advised me to sell off the bike there and buy a new bike here.
Its been just over a year that I have been using the bike in Mumbai now, and now I'm tired of looking over my shoulder, glancing the sides of the road for cops and bribing them everytime they stop me at a nakabandi. Also have all my papers in order(except the NOC
)
So, this is a shoutout to all senior motorheads here, who I'm sure must've come across an issue like this.
Please help me out, I do not wish to give away my bike.
Any Info/help is much appreciated.
Thank You

The best I can think of , is you go and pay the road tax to the Rto near to your residence. Then later you can get the NOC and the registration process done.
Do let me know if you need more info

Re: Inter-State Bike Transfer Thread
Hey guys, my brother owned an apache 180. It was registered in Bangalore, Karnataka. Recently, he shifted to USA and so, gave the bike to my brother in law in tuticorin, Tamil nadu. When asked for re-registration, the agents said it would cost about 8-10k. My friend's father told my brother in law that it's not a problem and get a written letter from my brother that he has handed over the bike to my brother in law with his signature and photo. Now the bike is running with the original RC, insurance and the written consent from my brother. Is it ok to ride the bike or should it be re registered?

Getting a new RC for a second hand Enfield.
My brother bought a second hand royal Enfield bullet 500 in 2008. The bullet was manufactured in the year1999.so it has completed 15 years. Due to some reasons all the legal documents were lost after 3-4 months. We tried to trace the owner but he has left the country and settled abroad. We registered a FIR and the copy of it is the only proof we have. Now we want to register it at Delhi. The bullet is having a haryana no. What are the procedures to follow please help.

Re: Getting a new RC for a second hand Enfield.
I doubt if you can re-register the bike in Delhi, as most metros don't allow old bikes to be transferred to the new city. Especially bikes which are 15 years old!Originally posted by SIDDHARTH SINGH View PostMy brother bought a second hand royal Enfield bullet 500 in 2008. Your best bet would be to renew the registration in Haryana only by taking it to the RTO and getting its fitness certificate. But i assume you would first have to get a duplicate copy of the RC issued.
All this is presuming that the bike is already in your name!!!Biking is not about what you have between your legs, its all about how well you use it!!!!!!!
Give your details here if you want to help your fellow xBhpian stranded in your city

Transferring bike from Bnglr to Mumbai for forever - What to do with registration ?
Hello,
I have Honda Shine Registered at Bangalore (KA number). Bike is 1 Year and 1 month old.
Now I have booked a new bike for me and wants to send Shine to Mumbai for my brother.
I don't bother to transfer bike on my brother's name. This will make whole procedure more complex.
I am new to this and not sure what to do with registration.
Is it mandatory to transfer the registration from Bangalore to Mumbai ? If yes, then what is procedure ?
OR
Is it possible to use the bike in Mumbai without changing registration and number, just with NOC from Bangalore RTO ?
Will NOC cancel the registration from Home RTO ?
I have all the documents valid and ready,
(1) Invoice of payment
(2) Road tax paid for lifetime (Road tax in Karnataka is more than in Maharashtra)
(3) Smart Card
(4) Insurance
What is the shortest and best possible valid way of transfer ?
I anyone have experience or information please share.

Transporting my bike to Bangalore.
Request to Mods: if a thread already exists regarding this type of query, could you be so kind and direct me to it.
Hi Guys,I live in Dehradun Uttarakhand. I am a software engineer and I have a job offer in Bangalore, therefore I am going to shift to Bangalore by the end of March 2015. I have a year old R15, that I wish to take to Bangalore with me. The bike has been registered at Dehradun. What I wanted to know is..
1. What documents (other than registration) do I have to get from Dehradun RTO (any NOC,or any other document).
2. What is the best means of transportation (trains or transport trucks or any other).
3. After reaching Bangalore, what is the procedure to make my bike fully legal of Bangalore roads. ie. registration, road tax, any other tax.
4. Is it necessary to change the number plate to KN or can I just pay all the taxes, get a paper stating the same and ride with my old registration and number plate.
5. How much time does it take to get all the formalities done.
Thanks in advance.I would like to thank my legs for supporting me, my arms for being always by my side and my fingers; I could always count on them.

you do not get NOC for 6 month or for that matter to any limited period. Once the NOC is issued, the bike is in called to be in transit for transfer from one state to another. What is the duration of your stay in Mumbai?
Reason asked as there is a provision that you can pay the road tax only and can ride your bike with the current registration number.
NOC is only required when you want to move to the state and want to register your vehicle in there.

Is your Bike is on hypothecation? If yes, do carry a letter of No Objection from them. This may come handy at the time or renewing your insurance.
Valid RC/ Driving license / insurance. (Do you want to transfer your bike permanently with Bangalore RTO? If not, no need for NOC.
2. What is the best means of transportation (trains or transport trucks or any other).

Need to submit the Road tax. Doc required:-
D.L.
Vehicle Invoice.
Proof of entry in state (transporter receipt)
Insurance
Bangalore Address Proof.
4. Is it necessary to change the number plate to KN or can I just pay all the taxes, get a paper stating the same and ride with my old registration and number plate.
Answered with Q3
5. How much time does it take to get all the formalities done.
it will be at the Max 2 days for Tax submission. But this depends on individual in RTO.
Hope this will help.OF THE BIKERS, BY THE BIKERS, FOR THE BIKERs

Is your Bike is on hypothecation? : What does this mean?? I'm sorry if i'm being a noob.
I have all the papers except NOC.
Do you want to transfer your bike permanently with Bangalore RTO? If not, no need for NOC.
I will be living in Bangalore for minimum of 2 years. it may be more (ie. 5 years) but not less than 2 years. Would it be a good idea to transfer completely?? or just pay the taxes, without transfer. I would like to opt for something that would cost less, but I would be safe from police as well.I would like to thank my legs for supporting me, my arms for being always by my side and my fingers; I could always count on them.

Paying the Road tax is a simple way to ride your bike in a different state. this tax is a life time tax. so even in future if you go back to KA, you just need to carry the receipt of the tax paid.OF THE BIKERS, BY THE BIKERS, FOR THE BIKERs

No, no loan. The bike was bought with full cash payment.Originally posted by neelesh4 View PostI ment to say that is there any Loan running on the bike at the moment?

So, all I have to do is get a NOC from the RTO of my hometown. Transport the bike to bangalore with all the legal papers. Pay the lifetime road tax at bangalore RTO. And I am good to go. Right.
Thanks a lot for the help brother. Really appreciate it.I would like to thank my legs for supporting me, my arms for being always by my side and my fingers; I could always count on them.

Bro NOC from rto is only required if u want to transfer your bike. As you want to retain your registration NOC not required. Just need to pay the road tax.Originally posted by Ankey View PostNo, no loan. The bike was bought with full cash payment.
