Try taping the exact location from where the vibration is coming using a scotch tape. It will help.

That's superb mileage for a 223cc engine. Just curious how do you calculate mileage on Fi bike?Originally posted by neo88 View Post

Neo, this mileageOriginally posted by neo88 View PostDriven now ZMR more than 1500 kms and is giving mileage more than 50 ( 60% on 4 lane city roads, 40% in traffic with signals, sticked around 60km/hr and between 4-5k rpm, most of the time ). No issues except the vibrations from the front fairing.
really makes me happy.
Actually expecting these figures from my knowledge.
Maintain these and it will be a delight in the long run.
OT: Actually my CBZ with small exhaust nozzle gave me 55 km/litre from 8000 kms to 25000 kms.
It dropped to around 50 km/litre. After 40000 it was around 45 km/litre.34567 kms and ZMR sold :(

Filling the tank upto the neck of the tank lid everytime i refuel it. So that I can get the amount of fuel & the kms covered by resetting the trip B reading. I use TRIP B only during refuelings.Originally posted by MG_Biker1806 View PostThat's superb mileage for a 223cc engine. Just curious how do you calculate mileage on Fi bike?

What's this scotch tape ? can you please elaborate, might help me ! I tried a lot but the exact source probably is the housing and assembly of number plate, which generates vibrations and transmits in the neighbouring area of the fairing.Last edited by neo88; 04-16-2010, 06:04 PM.Dream the impossible because dreams do come true !

I don't know whether you are doing it or not but the first time the fuel cuts off while refueliing is when we should stop filling any extra fuel if you want the correct fuel efficiency because whenever a manufacturer says 15litre its measured only till the start of the neck. The extra fuel that we generally fill to the brim can never be accurate because sometime 4litre goes inside and sometimes 5 but it looks very similar in terms of filling.Originally posted by neo88 View PostFilling the tank upto the neck of the tank lid everytime i refuel it. Don't know how to explain but basically its a yellow/off-white coloured double sided tape and around 4mm thick.Originally posted by neo88 View PostWhat's this scotch tape ? can you please elaborate, might help me ! I didn't get you. Is my method of calculation wrong ? Actually it's ~53, but to be on safer side, if i am going wrong in my calculation and my method I mentioned more than 50Originally posted by MG_Biker1806 View PostI don't know whether you are doing it or not but the first time the fuel cuts off while refueliing is when we should stop filling any extra fuel if you want the correct fuel efficiency because whenever a manufacturer says 15litre its measured only till the start of the neck. The extra fuel that we generally fill to the brim can never be accurate because sometime 4litre goes inside and sometimes 5 but it looks very similar in terms of filling.
This one probably I got it. the one which we use to fix the perfume bottles / idols of god in the car ?Originally posted by MG_Biker1806 View PostDon't know how to explain but basically its a yellow/off-white coloured double sided tape and around 4mm thick.Dream the impossible because dreams do come true !

Not sure. Its the one for sticking posters on wall. Google Double Sided Scotch Tape and you will find it.Originally posted by neo88 View PostThis one probably I got it. the one which we use to fix the perfume bottles / idols of god in the car ?

MG: The 'first cut-off' thing won't work. The 'cut-off' point depends on how deep the filling nozzle is inserted inside the tank. There's a back-pressure sensor that cuts off the fuel supply to the nozzle just as the fuel level rises to the cover the nozzle outlet. So the amount of fuel filled before this auto-cut off works depends on how deep the nozzle has been inserted into the tank by the filling attendant.Originally posted by MG_Biker1806 View PostI don't know whether you are doing it or not but the first time the fuel cuts off while refueliing is when we should stop filling any extra fuel if you want the correct fuel efficiency because whenever a manufacturer says 15litre its measured only till the start of the neck. The extra fuel that we generally fill to the brim can never be accurate because sometime 4litre goes inside and sometimes 5 but it looks very similar in terms of filling.
Usually, filling the tank till the fuel level just touches the extended neck of the fuel tank every time is enough to give mileage figures of sufficient accuracy.

ok thanks, by the way in that last 600 kms i had been twice to lavasa. That also needs to be worth mentioning. (Uphill & Downhill Roads, ghats )Originally posted by MG_Biker1806 View PostIt shouldn't be less than 50 in anyway so chill

That's what I meant by saying filling just till the extended neck. What I thought is that filling nozzle automatically cuts off at that point.Originally posted by Old Fox View PostUsually, filling the tank till the fuel level just touches the extended neck of the fuel tank every time is enough to give mileage figures of sufficient accuracy.
