  • Had visited Pune last weekend and came across a newly opened helmet showroom on J.M.Rd..they had pretty good variety of various branded helmets and the shopkeeper told me he`ll be getting loads of cross helmets as they are the dealers for cross.Luckily i had my camera with me and the shopkeeper allowed me to click a few pics.I bought a white ls2 from him for my zmr.

warranty does not void if you change to ss or FS provided you stick to the recommended grade of engine oil.

it is advisable to change to SS or FS only after completion of your running in period.

well i wont suggest you wrong, though there is no harm going for SS-FS and it would be even better for engine BUT if by chance something happens wrong to engine, HH would not entertain any kind of arguments.

even they reject warranty when also everything is ok from our side, so dont take risk enjoy 3 year peace of mind.

you can change tyres, battery bcoz they are proprietary items and there warranty are handled by respective manufacturer.

so better avoid it, HH oil by IDEMTISU is better, you can change it every 1000km as one of our zmr owner mohsin is doing so, and that would help in maintaining the engine even better.

The running in period is 1000KM.

I purchased it from Pimpri Chinchwad showroom. Did my 1st service there. Have done around 850 km so far.

Bike is running really well. Haven't been to any long trips so far. Bike performs its duties very well inside the city at 4-5k rpms. There is rarely a need to cross 5k rpm in city.

                          __________

Following is my experience in the 1st service at the Pimpri Chinchwad showroom. To summarize, it was quite unpleasant.

There was nobody seated at the 'Service Reception' desk. Customer needs to run around & approach one of the guys who are making the jobcards. They appeared to me as very unsophisticated and sarkaari officer type attitude. After half an hour of waiting I got hold of a guy who made my jobcard. I gave the bike at 10:30 am. He told that it would be done by 6 pm.

At around 12 pm I received an automated SMS that my bike is ready. I was surprised. I went to collect it at around 5 pm. I asked the person who made my jobcard what all has been done. He told what all needs to be done, has been done.

I saw that my bike was in the washing bay. I waited for some time assuming that the bike would be brought to the parking area near the Service Reception. Didn't happen. After the bike was washed, it was kept outside the washing bay. After checking with the boys at there, one person told that the pressure dry (or whatever it is called) is not working. I asked him to wipe the water from the bike with a cloth. What he did was funny. He took a cloth, wiped the seat and something else, stopped, looked at me. I was taken aback. Looking at the person, I decided not to argue with him. I myself dragged the bike out of the washing bay.

The last point in the long list of items to be done as part of service in the Owner's Manual is "Polish entire motorcycle". So I wanted to know whether this will be done or not. I asked this to several people.

Person 1#: We no longer do waxing/polishing. (regardless of whether or not it is written in the Manual).

Person 2# who made my jobcard: Polishing has already been done. I asked how has it been done before the bike was washed? Some gibberish reply.

Works Manager: I take my query/complaint to the works manager. He listens to me. He orders his guys to polish the bike. A senior service personnel accompanies me the polishing area, he says that it will be done, don't worry. Then he leaves. Then I find out that the person who will polish is away. So it will take time. I don't know how much.

I decide that enough is enough. Its high time I head for home. I ask the guy to at least wipe off the water drops from the bike. He takes out a dirty cloth from somebody else's bike, starts wiping, I am shocked, ask him to stop.

In the jobcard I had mentioned that my left mirror screw is bit lose. Please tighten. When I am about to leave, I find out that the screw has been tightened so much that I can't rotate the mirror bar. I'm already out of the service centre. So I decide to simply go away.

                          __________

This was just the 1st free service. Only major thing needed to be done was Oil change. He also mentioned that he will put some Additive. I was not unhappy with the bike that come out. I was very much happy when I rode her off. The gears had become very smooth. The bike was running great.

However the attitude with which HH service people treat even their premium bike customers is terrible. There was hardly anybody whom I felt is worth talking to. Rest look like thugs/uneducated morons/underpaid, careless boys.

There are not many centres that can service the ZMR. Its no use arguing too much with those people. I realize that I should not worry too much about cosmetic stuff like washing/polishing. I can manage these myself. As long as they service the bike properly, I should be happy.

However, I would suggest to HH that they should not waste ink in printing the line 'The service has been carried out to my entire satisfaction' and 'Customer's Signature'. I was not asked to sign. Even if I would have signed, it doesn't mean anything to anybody.
