They charged Rs 600 from me too, that was at the time of purchase. This is for Teflon coating done by 3M vendor at HH showroom. I think we can get the coating done twice again in 1 year in this package.

I believe this is different from polishing the bike, which, as per Owner's Manual should be done free of cost (in free services). Whether or not the service centre is doing it, is a different story. As a customer you can demand it.

@myg124: thankful to you for starting the thread.....and thanks to everyone who s keeping the thread alive. In my experience this thread helped me a lot in getting my zmr. When i thought of the bike, the thread gave me enough info about the bike. And when i hv contacted the showroom, they told me abt the waiting period, i was not shocked as its known for me its the same all over the country. When I got the bike, i took the key, and just came out the showroom without any queries, as I know well about the bike. Everything means, the merits and the problems faced (heating, smoking....etc) was know. Afterth1 1st kilometer ride in cochin city, i was caught in a traffic signal. There were bikes and cars around me, looking at the new bike. They were commenting....there s little raining.....the engine started smoking..... Everyone around me got shocked except me......as i have read any many times in this thread and expected it......nothing worried me........hope this will tell how i am thankful to you man........

@manan: whenever your name appears with the yellow baby's face, I feel there s something special..... But this time you have just suprised.......you chased your favourite star and talked and got an autograph....and she promised that she will autograph on your bike itself.....!!!!!!!!!!! Wow.......... After all the misfortunes you met by your bike, its a good turn........you re getting good lucks with your baby....... We re sure that ypur zmr helped you a lot in getting noticed........right?

@riyazitsme: hope you remember me.....we were at Yercaud...... In The Ride thread, i read that you touched 129 on your zmr....... I dont know anyone touched a higher speed than this...... My friend touched 132, but with K&N....so leave that....... Then your 129 is a good figure...... So there is something good...... If you touched 129, the setting of ECU, which s belived that the throttle will end up @126 is broken...... Thats a good news,I hope. What did you feel when you reached 129? Felt that the throttle got an end? And i hope after some more kilometres it ma give better speed.......so we can wait. Right?

        So myself:
as i have already told got delivery on 31.05.2010
        1st service @ 600 km on 05.06.2010
        2nd service @ 2300 km on 14.06.2010
Max speed achieved : 127 kmph
Maximum km coverd in a day: 500 km
3rd service ll be done by the end of this week as I hv already reached 4000km.
Good throttle responce, great posture for a tourer, good suspensions......as you people hv already came to know, we had tri-state g2g on 19th and 20 th of this month. I have rode a 1200 km in 3 days......fine job done by the bike...... Even i felt a feeling of riding a 500 km on my previous bike..... Btw, i got some major scratches on my bike in the ride...... As we had to cover all types of roads....highway under develpment, corners, hairpins, off roadd and even no roads........in a hairpin, i entered it in the right style but in the middle, i dont know, i tried to increase the periphery and my rear tyre disagreed and just fell down at the centre of the road,... Got some scractches on the right cowl, tank pad and the handle weight balancer bolt got a bent. (riyaz so my bike after that and his friend tried to clear the bent in which we failed) went to svc and will be replacing all by the next wednesday if he bolt and balaner arrives before that. Cowl is already available.
at this point i would like to how the anti banking sensor helped......when the bike went out of my control, at the moment itself, i felt that the bike in its idle mode is being holded and i just slopped it to the ground as same as the bike falling down when we try to balnce on our legs in idle.......wow........amzing.......if it hadnt switched off, my pocket might have got a big hole..........

started riding a motorized cycle on a chetak classic.
Learned to accelerate on Y RX100&135.
Learned not to fall down, the patience to heal wound on knee and to ride long on a classic Pulsar 150(still running)&180.....
Planning for more dream destinations on a new ZMR

        • @Mehul (myg124) Thankyou a lot friend for starting this thread.

Like praveenmemala, Even I didn't worry about anything related to the bike. Most of the things about the bike were already mentioned in this thread.

Hey I have gone for the so awaited trip on saturday 550kms total... 200kms of normal road and 350kms of a fresh NH-7

Had lots of fun while on the NH done a 150km strech continously above 100kmph

top speed touched 129kmph(have taken eyes off the speedo after that, may be gone more also) the bike handled it very well... i felt there is a little slope in the road when I have done this..

after the 500km ride and I came home the bike is as good as it is when I have started in the morning...

problems face during the ride: not sufficient NH for a ZMR..need longer streches of it, milage only 40kmpl just as it is in my city rides. may be due to speed well over 100 for most of the time

However had a lot of fun on the trip and mainly the bike served me for the purpose which I have bought it for!!!! had done the 550kms in 7hrs excluding breaks and 8.50hrs including them.....if this means something about the bikes performance

                • Guys.. guys.. guys!!! Don't get carried away by the top speed thing.

Avoid testing the top speeds of your bikes. It is fun I know, but more than the damage to the engine, your safety is compromised.

Be alert on roads. Even the Indian highways aren't that safe. Sudden popping of a vehicle from nowhere in front of you is the most common situation on highways. Better be safe than sorry. Remember, there are Karizmas, Pulsars, R1's, Ducatis and what not, waiting for you there. But without your life, they aren't of any value.

So better be safe than sorry. Happy cruising!!

I am taking your point as a +ve one for sure....... I asked abt the maximum as we were participating in g2g and driven a better distance in some deserted highways...... I am also not at all interested in the top end games.......and for sure even if i like to get good speeds, i done like to play with other bees on the road......

the fast speed is been tested with complete riding gear & in a open & long strech highway where you can see clearly ,but i would not recommend to do that to anybody ,as it is risky, we did it becoz we wanted to checkthe limits of the bike , even we dont rip the bike all the time
