The bike's fairings, rear lighting and the instruments clusters look amazing, but HH has left the other body elements like the tank n side panels fairly untouched. It's a bit disappointing, considering that the makeover and redesign comes after many years and the old ZMA looks gawkish these days. I just wish HH had gone ahead with a complete redesign and more aesthetics with the tank and side-panels to go in tune with the gorgeous front fairing.... ah I wish!!!

after about a month i started my zmr[the battery was removed, so i charged it yesterday from a battery shop], it took 3-4 cranks to start up.
after starting when the bike was idling i pressed clutch lever and noticed a slight change in engine sound, sound is audible only near engine.
have anyone experienced same in there bikes?? if not pls try pressing the clutch while idling and carefully notice any change in sound by listening near to the engine.
is this sound normal?"Biking is Divine"

their is a drain pipe which drains off the water accumulated and is attached to the hole you have mentioned. It's not normal, water should not accumulate, it should drain off or the excess water will get spill over into your fuel tank ....Originally posted by anmol_1990 View Postthe hole is for the removal water accumulated there...and it is normal, dont worry./
so remove all the bends of the drain pipe and check the free flow of water from the lid cover.Dream the impossible because dreams do come true !

water usually accumulate there in rain and during washing, we can not do away with this. i used term normal to refer to this process of removal of accumulated water by the pipe through the hole..Originally posted by neo88 View Posttheir is a drain pipe which drains off the water accumulated and is attached to the hole you have mentioned. Yes, i too has experience a different sound if press clutch in idle mode...i think it is normal and sound may be heard different may be because of fairing as sound may surround in it...
Is it some sort of problem?....pls advice...Last edited by veryhiphop; 06-15-2010, 03:54 PM.

i guess this is sound of clutch mating with components.Originally posted by veryhiphop View PostYes, i too has experience a different sound if press clutch in idle mode...i think it is normal and sound may be heard different may be because of fairing as sound may surround in it...

Yes my bike is 7 months oldOriginally posted by satyajitrc View PostMembers,
Actually I was very busy in the last TEN days. Annual OFFICE meeting & COUSIN sister's wedding made things hectic.
But generally speaking I have observed the FIT & FINISH of the Bike is not upto the mark.
May be I am wrong as comparing things from the old days of CBZ in year 2000 when it costed around 65K.
Myself being an ECONOMICs guy I understand that money value has changed in the last TEN years.
I ride safe, easy (like uncles) and follow the 4K RPM (60-65kmph) rule.
Have done around 950 kms in 29 days. The tight feeling of the parts is no more.
I repeat I am not complaining or bringing the engine scenario. May be I am too finicky or OLD chap of the block.
Meanwhile my BIKE is no more a VIRGIN angel. The service centre guys have put a deep gash/scratch on the right.
Though checked it during delivery after first servicing on 02-Jun-2010, they disguised it using some makeovers.
Ironically since it was on a corner servicing bay it was done by some inexperienced dumbo on the right corner.
I was concentrating more on the left since a Senior mechanic was explaining, working and detailing me on the bike.
Yes lesson learnt in a hard way.
The Teflon and polishing guy dropped in the afternoon that day when it was noticed.
Polishing and Teflon neatly done by these guys for Rs 650/-
Got one Microfibre Cloth (Magic Wipe) for Rs 150/- and One Step Polish for Rs 50/- Everything for Rs 800/-
Jopasu Car Care Products India
The person came to my residence and did the job. Fantastic job done. Will come whenever I give him a call.
Service for free. Besides will get TWO full polishing in a YEAR. In fact he has volunteered to heal up the wound also.
Manan,
Check the drain out pipe. Clean the water by absorption with dry cloth.
Neo,
+1 to Worrisomebear. In fact IIRC his bike is now almost SEVEN months old. (Mohsin correct me if I am wrong)
As a fact every TWO months servicing is required as a thumb rule.
This is the reason I said earlier things are not that good now.
Actually even without riding things are not holding up.
.. need to service every two months...oil i change every 900kms

same incident took place with me few days back including the bent handle,Originally posted by abhishekk89 View PostCurse that b*@#$%^
Some inexperienced kid rammed into my bike today and i fell off and bent my handlebar..
Recently had my second service done. now i hav to go to the service center again..
will they be able to remove the bend properly ? to the extent that'll make it seem brand new.. i'm worried i'll lose that wonderful handling i was so accustomed to from my zmr..
but the SVC persons are changing the whole handle bar they say it cant be realinged

fixing a bulb
+1000Originally posted by veryhiphop View Postevery 900 km...but i guess oil should be changed after 1500-2000 KM
its useless to change oil for 900 kms.
I have decided to change the bulb to nightbreaker... Can we change it simply? Should we go to svc to do this? If its not needed, how could it be?started riding a motorized cycle on a chetak classic.
Learned to accelerate on Y RX100&135.
Learned not to fall down, the patience to heal wound on knee and to ride long on a classic Pulsar 150(still running)&180.....
Planning for more dream destinations on a new ZMR

in the manual the recommended duration is 6000km but most of us change oil at every service i.e 2000 km, i guess replacing oil every 900 km would do no good and will burna hole atleast in my pocket."Biking is Divine"
