well as far as i know if u change the cdi of classic pulsar to dtsi then u gotta change the ignition coil as well coz in case of clasic it only has 1 connecter and in case of dtsi it has 2 connectors dtsi cdi will b able to run on classic after that coz coz dtsi is also made to run on 1 spark plug(in case there is a problem with the other 1) but u wont b able to benfit fully 4m d dtsi cdi coz there is TRICS-III (throttle responsive ignition control system) which controls the petrol 4m d carb system to get d better millage and u dont hav that in case of classic pulsars so the cdi would b trying to control a system that is not there and there is also a rev limiter dont know how that would react to classic pulsar but i think that shouldnt pose much problem but i think its better to go in 4 a custom made cdi 4 classic pulsar but it has to b a tested thing othere wise it would screw up bike perf so rash can u plz post the details regarding the cdi that u r talking bout coz i was looking 4 such a thing my self

RASH has put it down properly, yup the cdi will do all those things. Why?? Because the old classics came with crappy cdi units and the newer digital ones are much better. Old's/DTSI's Crank rotate in opposite direction so forget putting a dtsi cdi on the old bike, the digital cdi rash mentioned abt is a very good upgrade for old pulsars. 2 spark plugs make no difference, I've ridden a p150dts with one spark plug cap DISCONNECTED and there was no difference in operation. And by no difference I mean ABSOLuTELY NO.

if members for any city can group and get enuf number of people...say atleast 10 then we can decide if the CDIs can be made available...

pune members can see it work cos one of the guys already has it....

it is not economical to do one or two units...

price will be much less than what you wud pay for a loud can and a K&N filter....

sorry i dint get time to post
                              few thing
you can forget about putting the DTSI cdi on to a classic...
and the DTSi cdi costs 3000Rs not 700...thats the analoge unit of the old classi pulsars thats cheap..

some one asked about warranty...well most classics are already over an year old...and most guys(no offence) put the loud annoying cans for i dont know how much on thier new bikes...

The CDI is going to cause no harm to your engine whatsoever....and it will be a direct plug in replacement..

but as i mentioned we need sure customers.....i thot this place had about 5000 members and only a few show interest in what is a really genuine product...
spread the word around people cos if the CDI doesnt sell its gonna be discontinued....

                              Regards
                              Rash

hence forth i will keep a regular watch at this topic...sorry again
