Hi Abhijeet,
Thanks for your reply, When I read the ALL DC conversion thread, I saw Sajjt proposing that Bajaj's RR unit which I bought. That's the Reason I pointed the Questions to Him
.
By any means Do you know the pin-outs of this RR unit, like which one is the Voltage monitor Wire...
?
Life(health & wealth) is like LED(voltage & current) too much or too less is unacceptable.

Vinodh, first of all u got a local Delhi make RR which is not reliable and it can smoke ur bulbs at any time, OEM will cost u 1100/- and what u got is not the one we need, its a Bajaj 4Stroke 3 Wheeler RR or so, I dont know it will do the job as I'vent experiemented with that. AFAIK, Bajaj 4S 3W batt usage is limited to self start, so I dobout. Go for the APE RR here's the pic of it.Originally posted by discoverVinu View PostHi Sajjt,
After installing the Hid I want to convert the Ac lighting system to DC and charge the battery as well as light the pilot lamps and digital console.
I Got hold of the Bajaj1000cc RR unit(738/- at JC road bangalore) as in above the pictureand I need your help in this Mod,
I read the DC conversion Thread, there you have mentioned that this RR unit needs some jugaad to use in Pulsar.
I want to know where to connect these extra two small gauge wires ( red/white and red/yellow) coming out of the RR unit to the bigger socket and what else has to be modded?
I'll be Experimenting by using an AC transformer for this but I need all your help in Sorting it out,,,can you suggest me the pinouts if you know.....
My Concern is what will happen to the systems like Digital consoles if they run on DC instead of AC, anybody running on full DC on pulsar with Digital console?
I purchased the Headlight relay for using the stock switches to switch on/off the HID.
yet to make my hands dirty,,,,
thanks for helping me in figuring out how to paste the pictures...
Waiting for your reply..

U can also use Force Mini Door 3 Wheeler RR here's it. Cost will be almost same but its slightly bigger.

APE RR is tried and tested by many members here without any issues. Its got 2 grey wires for AC input to be fed from the coils directly only after de grounding the coil from the body and the Yellow is +ve out to be connected to the batt and the black ofcourse ground and the RR to be bolted to the chassis, u can use the stock RR place by using one of the nuts to secure it. Dont forget to pull out the stock RR before this.
APE RR don't've a batt monitor wire, but not sure about the newer models. Ur new RR's got a batt monitor wire and one more not sure about that.
The relay u've bought is a car HL relay, expensive one, u can use a 20A SPST relays costing 50 and make use of it.

As Abhi said, dont try the RR with transformers as the shunting in RR will make the transformer smoke, and its not meant for that. Afterall whats the intention of that?
AFAIK, all digital console requires DC, even analouge tacho requires DC, so dont worry as there r members using this setup. Abhi what do u say?
Wiring and other details are clearly detailed in the first few pages in the AC DC conversion thread. Pls go through once again and proceed.

Hey something off topic, but bit relavent now. How about this S Singh's groove implimentation? He's got a patent for this groove theory. He claims better combustian and results bette milage without knocking even on top gears with low speed. Any idea of current status on that? I am planning to shave off a bit from CH to change the CR in my Pulsar, so by the time I planning to get it grooved. I feel my bike is so weak on mid range, so thinking of CR alteration. My steed is 5+ year old so I can play around without much fear of spoiling it. But not much info and not followers too. Even a single mech supports, says that its the most wildest mod
(Yet to update that monkey
) and not allowing me to do. WHats ur comment? If interested, am planning to start a new thread on this.

Return back the RR unit which u got from JC road if he is ready to take. Don't risk with it. I got 1 from JC road and mid road it conked off. Gradually it ate the cells of my battery and started burning all other electricals. That is why in Convert AC to DC thread I ve mentioned to use OEM only.
1 guy who I know had got the grooving done on his Unicorn. S Singh just made 2 scar like grooves on Head which didn't prove useful in long run. Moreover getting job from S S is a big headache unless you go thru some reference or you personally know him. I had an idea of getting this done and dropped it.Originally posted by sajjt View PostHey something off topic, but bit relavent now. How about this S Singh's groove implementation? Shree can u elaborate "useless in long run"? Did the mid'd improved and about the economy? Am planning to get it done by myself if possible. Hey dont u've no other guys to get the feedback from ur place? He's very close to u I mean Mysore. But one thing is 4 sure, it didnt created any wave in the industry else, it would've been adapted by some automotive gaints by this time. Or is he being sidelined bcz of any "poli tricks"? Anyway am just curious to try those groove and I've some hope too
My bike is struggling to return 45-50
with no ripping, steady 60-70 within the green rpm range on highways
. Recently checked this, I was a careless fellow in this, but this is something wrong. My previous score was 50-55
Already done 120K KMs so far, I think its time to replace the Cylinder Block and the crank. Phew, tank replacement is pending, now another 5-6K for engine replacement
. Severe cash crunch due to new car purch, litterally made me bankrupt
Next month am planning to do a complete service incl de carbonizing. Then I should take decision to sell off my horse or not.
Another off topic update: I am running with acetone 2.5ML/Lit (type of aditive function) and 2T 0.8 ML/Lt along with petrol and now I feel its very smooth. Experimenting can be done this time only, so only guys with bikes older than 5yr pls..

120k kms?! OMG! Pulsars run this long?!
Why dont you sell this and get a new P220?

Acetone may be OK, but why add 2T dude? It will only choke up the combustion chamber, exhausts etc.Your biking tells a lot about the person you are!

Hi Sajjt,
Please have a look at another snapshot which I took of the RR unit
this is not Delhi made RR unit.
The reason I bought this RR unit is that All other Spares store Guys Showed me the Cheap delhi made APE RR unit Which I dont wanted to buy. So after searching for more than 2 hours In afternoon heat, I ended up in Bajaj Genuine Spares Shop and Bought this RR unit with bill and In an Sealed Original Spares box
.
The Relay Which I have Mentioned before Costs only Rs112 with bill and comes with warranty
, I bought this Because Earlier I used SPST relay but it conked off and Left my bike W/o lights in middle of the road
,,, so This time I will be trying to put this heavy duty HL relay.
AFAIK normal relays are meant for Switching for Shorter periods but the Headlight relays are meant for Switch and hold the Contacts for longer periods ( as in Cars).
correct me if I am wrong....Last edited by discoverVinu; 04-13-2010, 08:15 AM.Life(health & wealth) is like LED(voltage & current) too much or too less is unacceptable.

My hearty congrats dude on ur new job. Are u near to Shree? Which co? Then its time for Honda R1 man.Originally posted by abhijeet080808 View PostReplies in bold.
I may not sell it like the older ones, this one I learned and played a lot but it didnt let me down anywhere till now. So am planning to re work and possibly I'll go for a new one, may be a scooter like Aviator, seriously thinking of to have a scooter for my wife, may be for me too for time being. Am not so facinated to P220, and not a tyre burning type not even a tourer too nowadays. Too addicted to family life, my wife doent like touring on bike but she's happy with that on city rides like everyone especially on B2B traffic.
Hey whats ur odo count man? Is it working
? My friends P classic had already clocked more than 152K is that ok to keep mine
?
Acetone makes the petrol thinner and helps the combustion easier and the 2T makes the other lubing effectively, afterall the qty is 0.8%/lt can be easily burned along with that and so far no issues since last 7 months. Try it and feel the diff man.
What about grooving? any update on it?
Man, that doesnt conveys anything to me as its only a side elevation of the RR. And did I ever told u to go for Bajaj RR? I was telling everyone to go for APE RR as its more easy to understand the pinouts. This will also work am sure, but getting the pin outs is a pain. Grey wires are for AC input and the black is gnd, red is for RR out to batt. Another 2 wires , one of them will be batt monitor, and what about the other lead? Bajaj 3Wheeler which model is that? Try to get a wiring diagram if possible, then we can figure out. But u can do one thing, connect the other wires like AC input, black gnd and with the help of a MM measure the voltage across the red RR out while touching one of those small wires to the batt +ve. One more socket sharing the AC connection, whats for that?Originally posted by discoverVinu View PostHi Sajjt,

I was refering to automotive SPST relays not the multipurpose ones, am using that since 3 years even with a 90/100 for 6 months and now on the HID too. Anyways if u got a stuff, then no worries. Good quality HL relay will cost u more than 300/- not at this price anyway. BTW, who's giving u for 112/- relay warranty
? 2 yrs back I've been charged 400 (OE) for my swift HL relay and that too w/o warranty. He must be joking man, even Rs50/ gas lighter's carrying 1 yr warranty and who gets that?

Hey Dude,,
Cooldown Bro, I donot wanted to hurt your feelings. I was just pointing out that in the AC/DC thread you mentioned this RR also not the Exact same but the Model. I'm not blaming you,I just needed Help thats it.
Here is the copy from the thread.....
Compliment means just to trace both the coils can be clubbed if its in a series pattern like one of the coil ends with CW and other starts with ACW thats all. Its better to take it to an electrician to get it identified as he can guide u more in this. Stator cover is not supposed to open very frequently as water can go inside once any packing or the faces of the cover got damaged, I've seen mechs using screwdrivers to pull out the cover which should not be allowed, instead tap on the tabs provided for. Check for the packings every time u close the cover else, oil leak, water/dust can go side.
Good to hear that u went for an OEM RR, surely give u a trouble free time once u install it properly. Once more update, we can also use the Bajaj GC1000 RR which is having a voltage monitor which will take care of the over charging issue if any.

Hey there's no hurt feelings in that, infact u've mistook some of my statements, the pic I've given is Bajaj GC1000 RR and see the diff between urs and the pic, its got another one more wire to be identified. Which bajaj model it is? The best thing u can do is replace with the Bajaj GC 1000 RR and use, it will work with batt monitor.Originally posted by discoverVinu View PostHey Dude,,

@Viny - Try and get the wiring diagram. After that, we can help you out. If you would have gotten the APE RR unit, you would have gotten the step by step procedure as others here have already done it on their bikes.Originally posted by sajjt View PostMy hearty congrats dude on ur new job. Mine is a second hand one. I have riden for 25k kms. And earlier it has run atleast 50 kms.
Acetone makes the petrol thinner and helps the combustion easier and the 2T makes the other lubing effectively, afterall the qty is 0.8%/lt can be easily burned along with that and so far no issues since last 7 months. Try it and feel the diff man.
Maybe I will try it.

No idea abt it man. But I dont think its such a good idea else we would have seen it being done everywhere.

Am from Cochin, another 530 Kms from Bangalore. Make a trip to here with Shreeni, lets meet here someday.
Yes, acetone and 2T makes more smooth ride, but not much econo as well. U r right, there are very few guys done that and none of them vouches for it. Else, it would've been plagued by this time like K&N. How about changing the CR and retuning the valve timing, will that improve a bit mid range? I feel my steed is underpowered now.
Hey Shreeni, what about the grooving feed back from your place? U r from his place na? How's his workshop now? still like a dhaba type? I've seen some pics of his workshop from other forums. Here are some:
Here's the hero Somendar Singh at his work shop

This is a grooved Hyundai Sonata Engine Head.

This is so called grooving process by mr Singh with just a triangle file and hacksaw blade.

Any takers?
Here's the steps for Pulsar Grooving
Hi All,
Encouraged by the success of grooving in cars I decided to implement this wonderful technique on our bikes.I was thinking since long & finally grooved pulsar 150.The bike has been tranformed totally.Therer is excellent rise in initial torque.Bike is now vey very responsive.Pulsar 150 is having compression ratio of around 9.4:1 and we increased it further to nearly 10:1 by removing 0.4 mm metal from head surface. This bike is having two spark plug on opposite direction to enhance combustion.I grooved just opposite both plugs in the same manner as in cars.So there are two Grooves and were pointing towards plug area & having sharp edges on both sides.
This job took nearly one day as we have to take head to other auto workshop for surface grinding.
I have also applied another technique called "Edging".Its simply rounding the sharp corners on the surface of head so that there is better flow of gases.I have done this Edging with simple file.It helps better flow of air fuel mixture & exhaust gases in & out.
We have taken photo by mobile phone & I m happy to share it.
This Pulsar owner who is a frind of mine is extremly happy to see such a remarkabe transformation.FE is also on higher side but cant comment right now.

Made a groove in the head and thereby increased compression?
This guy does not know his stuff! As your engine is getting old, I guess even a replacement of bore/piston will bring it back to its old self.
Yeah, I hope I can meet you sometime soon.

Sajan - I being Mysore, have never tried to visit his garage at all
Heard dealing with that guy is very risky as he shouts irrespective of who you are (not sure) and I kind of lost interest in this. Will try to find out some details.
And regarding me & Abhi meeting you (including Rahul
) We can plan a road trip so that you can come to some mid point and same place we will also come thereby saving a bit of time with a joyful ride also
What say !
Abhi - Got your bike ?
