U can use the stock projector and buy an H7 HID and plonk, no other changes required as P220 is an HID ready bike. Goodluck.

There r lot of brands mostly chinese, so is the quality too. Go for a moderate priced one, dont go for anything less than 3K for a single HID kit and ask for bill and warranty will give u peace of mind. Dont change the High Beam to HID as the HID takes 15-20 secs to get full brightness and u wont be able to flash. So stick to halogen in the high beam.

HID with P220 low beam projector for Pulsar150UG3

Hi SaJJt, This is Vinodh From Bangalore .Thanks to your detailed Mod,I was able to Make the modd to my pulsar150Dtsi-ug3,I'm yet to convert my bike to All DC, Waiting for my Vacations in which I will be converting the bike to aLL DC, here are some Photos which I took while doing the Mod.

Hi Vinodh, That was an excellent mod, if u could make a shroud with a thin alumn/SS sheet it would be more appealing in day time. I love the AE's u've created with acrylic rods and LEDs. Hey why dont u give the pics directly and post, will give more attention to others.

Its a low beam lens, which cars? How did u sourced it? What about the High beam? Do u've any aux lamp to do that?

AFAIK, DC conversion in Pulsar is not a pain now, it was on the early stages I didnt get much help on this, but later I solved it with the help of fellow xbhpians help. Feel free to ask if u've any doubt in DC conversion.

Thanks for your prompt Reply, I read the complete thread about the DC conversion,there was an excellent effort by all you guys out there... I got the idea and Implementing it soon,I'll Get the APE RR unit to do the conversion AFAIK APE RR unit is easy to use...

I have used pulsar220's Low beam projector,Sourced it from Junkstore at Shivajinagar in Bangalore for 400bucks

and the HID kit for 2800bucks from JC road that too with one year warranty with bill.{ mail me If you need the Address I can guide you, I got hold of one guy there who had Loads of Laura's projectors}

For High beam I'm planning to put an55W 6" dia Spot lamp Which I bought earlier from JC road and also thinking of alternatives, will be doing after converting to All DC.

I have one More problem I'm not able to figure it out how to insert the Image here in the text box??

can anybody guide me....

No, no more lens required right now, may be other members can utilize this info. And about the APE RR, always stick to the OEM RR as the local brands can let u down any time with many troubles to your bike.

Anyways, nice and most economical mod, considering the money involved in my mod, hats off to u man.

For puting pics in text box, copy the image location from your web album(Picasa) and click on the image icon above the text box, u'll get a box prompting for the image location, paste it and give ok, u r done.

Regarding your question of pasting the images, do it in the following way...

Following is the format, remove the extra spaces (added deliberately) & u should be able to display the image along with the text...

Hi Sajjt,

After installing the Hid I want to convert the Ac lighting system to DC and charge the battery as well as light the pilot lamps and digital console.

I Got hold of the Bajaj1000cc RR unit(738/- at JC road bangalore) as in above the picture and I need your help in this Mod,
I read the DC conversion Thread, there you have mentioned that this RR unit needs some jugaad to use in Pulsar.
I want to know where to connect these extra two small gauge wires ( red/white and red/yellow) coming out of the RR unit to the bigger socket and what else has to be modded?

I'll be Experimenting by using an AC transformer for this but I need all your help in Sorting it out,,,can you suggest me the pinouts if you know.....

My Concern is what will happen to the systems like Digital consoles if they run on DC instead of AC, anybody running on full DC on pulsar with Digital console?

I purchased the Headlight relay for using the stock switches to switch on/off the HID.

yet to make my hands dirty,,,,

Don't experiment using AC transformers. They are not made to handle short circuit current at all.

They already run on DC. Only h/l runs on AC

Even though you asked sajjt, I thought about answering these questions.
