Rust forms when water is sticking to metal for a long time. No matter how much you wash your bike, be sure to wipe it off with a soft, dry cloth.

I remember reading in some other thread(dunno which one)...that carnauba wax slowly dissloves the paint.....Originally posted by fayad555 View Postshouldnt be using carnauba wax? why?
i think it protects the paint, i apply formula1 wax nowaays after washing..it keeps my bike shining...
Cant remember exactly what was written against it....

1)

- Aeroshot - Liquid Car Polish
2)
and

- Tyre Glaze - Tyre Shine Spray

3)
also polishes my bike with fucot acrylic paint sealant which is used by BAJAJ guys to polish bike when they say it's a teflon coating......

my p200 gets pampered once in two weeks !! on a sunday ...take direct pipe from ..overhead tank !! i have a hand operated nozzle for the pipe so i can control the intensity of the water ,....spread etc !! i use diesel to clean off the oil and grime on alloys (caused due to lubing of chain ) and for the body i use 3m car shampoo !! and wipe it clean with a 3m lint free cloth wich costs abt 75bucks for table napkin size tin ...then wax it up with formula 1 wax ...and monthly once i use 3m tyre some shining thing gives glossy look to the tyre walls and 3m dashboard polish for all the plastic parts !! and i don touch my bike in between washes coz it creates minute scratches when i try to wipe with dust on it
lol this all takes 2hrs easily but i love doing all this !! makes u one with the bike lol

I used to pour buckets of water with direct hose connection; ever since I bought my car & learned how to wash a car using 1 or 2 small bucket of water, I adopt the same with my bike & scooter; Use a car shampoo on a small bucket of water, wipe motorcycle & scooter, use a diesel dipped cloth for cleaning tar spots & oil, then clean the bucket & refill with clean water & wipe off. I may or may not use polish, but ensure the mud & oils are clean. I follow this once a month or two approach; however, I usually have a bad habbit of removing the tank, seats, wheels, carbs, chains, side panels & clean them once a month. IMO, I see my motorcycle with love & people at water wash see as business.Skill is what keeps you on a Motorcycle

in bangalore we almost hav rain everyday (arnd april & all these months)
whenever there is a rain i just leave my bike in the rain & later on clean it with a dry cloth.
there r a lot of advantages in it:
its free
no chemicals(in rain water)
gud usage of rain water(rain water harvesting in a way)
minimal effort
NOT BEEN THERE NOT DONE THAT
