Dude thats way too costly. I would rather prefer to get my bike washed at a near by place for Rs.50. I cannot spend Rs.9500 for something which i can get done in 100 (for two vehicles) & that too for just once a month.

I had to buy this because of my new Ninja... I've heard of horror stories of other ninja's radiator fans going for a toss due to high pressure water washing @car-wash centers.

With this gadget, i can take my time & delicately wash the bike...

I do have an water-gun (plastic with spring loaded thing) which can be connected to ordinary hose pipe.

I've used them on my Karizma for sometime. It's does a good job, if you don't have lots of mud caked-up on the bike. I bought it thru ebay for 100 bucks.

            • I use a Bosch Aquatak "Compact" water gun for cleaning. It comes with a soap dispenser and a variety of nozzles that make cleaning easy. Use it for my vehicles, patio and just about anything that could use a good pressure wash.

For my bike I usually WD40 the whole bike (except the brake disks) and then give it a water blast after 10 minutes to get rid of the grime. Then I use a wash and wax shampoo with a toweling session before a final rinse. Finally I use waxpol to give it a deep shine and black look for the metal bits like calipers etc. which would otherwise get white spots.

Takes about 2-3 hours to completely clean, wax and polish the MT01 and my other bikes but it is a lot of fun. This time includes cleaning up the driveway once the bike is cleaned up.

                  Hi gsferrari,

I've always had trouble with hose-pipe connectors while setting up my Bosch Aquatak washer. The plastic/rubber ones which are available with hardware stores are of extremely poor quality. So everytime i've to put Anabong glue to fix them together. Otherwise, they just disconnect within 5 minutes...

Do you know where i can get proper connectors?

Just a hose doesnt create any BIG pressure. So am thinking of getting a water gun with hose pipe attached. Check the ebay link i have provided in my previous posts & you will understand.

                    @gsferrari:-
Sounds impressive. Where can i get it? How much does it cost & does it come with a pipe??

I use a regular plastic-rubber hose with a metal clamp at the end. Tighten the screw and it will not disconnect. I never had the disconnecting problem even without the metal clamp...

My friend bought it for me from a Bosch outlet in Bangalore. I think it cost 6k or something...not sure. Mine is the top of the line in the "Compact" series and it is MORE than adequate for cleaning bikes and cars (don't go by what they say on the website). Used incorrectly you can strip paint with the water jet this Aquatak base model produces!

                      • Else where on this thread, some people have advised against using hair shampoo like Head & Shoulders, Clinic Plus, etc. to wash & shampoo our bikes.

Hair & Skin are one of the most sensitive parts of our body and if shampoo can be used on sensitive parts of our body, what makes people think that it will harm the paint, rubber and metallic parts of the bike. ROFL This is the height of foolishness or to put it mildly, possessiveness. Try telling that to your girl friend - darling i cant use your shampoo on my bike as it will damage my bike. pH balanced ROFLMAO This is really really crazy man

Hair & nails are not any sensitive part of our body. They are rather dead cells of our body. The shampoos are made of detergents which are more powerful/effective against dirt. So i think it MAY damage the bike's paints.

Beg to differ on that issue MK , compared to auto paint which is coated with hi-gloss lacquer and can withstand high temperatures and outdoor environment, our skin and hair, though composed of dead cells are far more sensitive. Trust me on that. A shampoo sachet of 5-10ml in a bucket of water of 5-10 ltr, hardly makes a difference. People use shampoo sachet directly on their hair which not only flow onto their sensitive scalp and facing skin but eyes too without harming. Think again.

The problem with the normal shampoos is that they produce a lot of foam easily which can be an irritation while washing the bike. While the automaotive shampoos relatively produce very less foam which makes them easier to use. Anyways the automotive shampoos come for Rs.90 & it lasts very very long. So they are economical to use.
