This one is all hard carnauba wax , no abrasive at all , hard to polish off , longest lasting and cheapest . I use it for many other things for gloss and protection , as well as a shoe-polish . works great !

U can try Waxpol Ultra Glo, costs Rs 80 for a small tin. Good results so far. N the smalll tin can last for 2 or 3 comlplete polishing of bike (with a fairing).

        • I wash my bike everyday with plain water and then wipe it down with a moist leather cloth ( this i use as i am not using shampoo and the leather doesn't let the dust particles scratch the body when wiping).

Once every week i shampoo wash it and then polish it. I use diesel to clean the chain and rims.

Feels great to ride it once its all clean and shiny

Afaik normal shampoo is not recommended as they can damage the paint gradually coz they are harsh and 50 rs for a wash WTF here it is 20 bucks.

                    • I get her washed once or twice a Month with Sunsilk shampoo and Polish it with 3 coats of Amway Silicon wax. Rest of the the time i just wipe the dust off her. I avoid washing as much as possible as too much water is not good. Even after 3yrs, she still looks right out of the showroom. No-one believes she is a 3yr old daily workhorse .

                      • I follow these steps for my RX

                        Material used:
                        1. Banian cloth
                        2. Bucket of water
                        3. Turtle liquid wax(waterever!)
                        4. Waste cloth.

                        Step:-
                        1. Clean the dirty areas with waste cloth (silencer bottom, exhaust area, engine bottom area).
                        2. Water splash all over
                        3. Soap the bike with car shampoo all over.
                        4. Allow it to dry
                        5. Apply turtle liquid polish with applicator
                        6. Gentle rub with Banian cloth (planning to buy microfiber cloth) to avoid scratches.

If in right mood will click some pictures when it is bling!

ALL shampoo (including car Shampoo) is just detergent , same as surf/tide . Harsh detergents have more alkali , like dish wash vim/pril etc . Hair shampoo is more ph balanced than any other detergent , should be the mildest . They also contain petroleum oils as conditioners . Car shampoo contains added wax (petroleum or natural) . If you want a milder cleanser - you have to use non-detergent soap . You can safely use fabric detergents like surf/tide etc . The trick here is dilution . I use about a half teaspoon in half a bucket of warm water .

                          • Ok i may sound silly but how do u guys remove the bubble marks made on the paint surface after washing with water??

earlier, i used to wash and wax my bike twice a week but then i learnt that waxing once or twice a month is more than sufficient..

so now i only wash my bike and let it dry naturally..but after it dries, there are bubbles made on the tank a and panels by the water that dried on the surface!!! so i again have to use a cloth dipped in wax to remove those marks...

even if i wipe my bike after washing it, still somehow i can see smaller droplet marks on the bike surface and again i have to remove them with wax!!

                            how do i prevent this?

naah bro....its not the swirl marks (if swirl marks mean the round round scratches created on the bike by cleaning with a cloth)...for swirl marks, i followed ur suggestion and got a Branded MF cloth...

i am talking abt the water marks...for eg, when u leave ur bike in the rain and it dries after after sometime automatically, dont u see the water droplets settle down on the paint and form whitish round patch-like things???..those become difficult to remove if not attended to immediately...

see this pic..these are the marks em toking abt.... :

these marks are easy to remove as soon as they are formed but if left for an hour or so, it becomes very difficult to remove them...i have to keep rubbing a cloth hard enough and eventually i land up with scratches and marks!
