thanks Akhil! Aldoor is actually much further up from kalasa i guess. We had the maximum curves from the Malaghat Start which is basically the beginning of the Kudremukh Ghat section after the check post going upto kudremukh town via hanuman gundi falls then 20 kms later is kalasa. I think i remember u riding upto kudremukh on ur ride and turn back to kalasa for stay in silent valley when u rode down on ur R1. So next time u come down. Ride down to Mlore from kudremukh its 110 kms from kudremukh and the road is very good upto mlore! via karkala and moodabidri.

Meghan, nice pics. I think I remember those curves. You should've headed off to the Aldoor area where you'd have got more pic and knee friendly curves

U need to work on your body positioning. It looks fine otherwise. Since there are no pront view pics, its hard to comment.

I am no expert but your lean looks good(although I believe the hands srtill need to be ina better position) while the Red T shirt guy is going compltely wrong with moving his upper body in opposite direction.

A few shots of me cornering on my discover 125 during our group ride to Kudremukh. I'm hoping Joel and Killer will tell me where i'm going on wrong and where i can improve on my cornering! I'm still learning and improving. Appreciate any feedback here!
I'm the one in black shirt overtaking the p180. It was a wide corner and i had a full view of the road ahead at the apex.






I'm comfortable leaning both sides but didnt have enough corner speeds in a couple of these pics!
Apologies for some of the blurred pics!
The disco handled well during the ride! composed and would change directions mid corner with some effort! And will let u correct ur lines should u run wide. Good bike and had a great time!Last edited by KwokFist; 03-12-2009, 02:02 PM.

Yamaha Gladiator RS : scraping footpegs
Hey guys,
This Sunday , I had gone biking to Lavasa,Pune and I was scraping both my footpegs on the turns that exist between the main lavasa gates and the end of the final ascent to the peak of the mountain . What I want to know is whether the lean angle is safe to continue scraping ?
I used to attack each turn by shifting the weight of the top of my upper body (inc;uding the head) towards the sides,aided by weighing the inner footpegs ; offcourse,the turn was initiated by countersteering . I know I have loads to improve on my vision through the corner and the smoothness of weight shifts ... BUT ... i never shifted half a buttock cheek off the seat ; neither did I stick my knee out . So,how should I change my turning technique ? Lean less with the knee out ? The bottom screw of my right footpeg seems to have worn out by a quarter of it's width...bummer. The left not so much . I have problems countersteering heavy enough for left turns.
Oh,the joy I felt when i scraped the peg for the first time ! Woohoo ! And,i am a biking newbie with only 3000 kms on my odometer ..
PS : I do have safety gear including elbow,knee,wrist pads and DSG gloves.. and a helmet with ear plugs. I have done my knowledge gathering from reading Nick's Sport Riding techniques book.
I plan to have my default rear Zapper (3" x 18") replaced with a Zapper Q 90/90. A wise choice ?
