    It is a true fact.

Variation in throttle helps to keep happy the engine.

      • Guyz... I am making this post just because I happened to see this thread dedicated just for general discussions on FZ.

Presently, I don't own any bike, (Looking forward to own one. )

So, my query is regarding milege.
I am a college guy. Will be riding around 200 - 250 kms a week. Mostly, highways. (70%). The rest, local/rural roads (20%) and cities (10%).

My normal speed is between 60-75 kmph (At most 80) on highways, and up to 60 on local roads.

What milege should I possibly expect..?

          • Today I took my bike for the 9th servicing, after I had a small fall last week.

Visually nothing was damaged on the bike and the bike seemed to ride quite fine.

As i went for the serving the person out there said that the handle bar is out of shape and needs to be changed, and he also mentioned that there a problem with the forks and it needs some setting or adjustment.
I did what was necessary according to him, but after I took the bike and was riding, I felt the engine vibrating more than before.
The performance is good, but on the higher revs there is lot more vibration, that it used to be.

I always used the oil that they used in the service station for servicing, will changing the oil to full synthetic will help.

If yes, which oil should I be using. or any other advise would be appreciated.

Bigger chain sprocket?? if it is for very fast acceleration you can opt for rear R15 sprocket but the top end will suffer. If you are looking for more top end and ok with losing a bit on the initial acceleration then go for the unicorn 15T front sprockt costs around RS. 65 - 100.

                        Cheers

It costed around Rs. 110 when I checked it in my Yamaha Service Centre training... must have changed by now.
It might fit but FZ handlebar will be more Sporty, NOT comfortable like you want. You will have to extend your arms like you're on a sportsbike... Check the pics to see the comparison:

                            Dazzler's higher and closer handlebar:

                            FZ's sporty handlebars:

I was thinking of getting them on my P180 UG3... But then I decided that first I should get rear set footpegs installed along with the performance end can (with revised fittings suiting the footpegs from P200/220).

Original Sprockets are 40/14... which is 2.857.
R15 rear and unicorn fronts are 42/15 respectively, which is 2.8.

So, the result is no (very negligible) difference... So, don't change both as its useless and expensive.

Just think if you want acceleration or top speed: then choose one sprocket which gears it the way you want.

brother im gonna change my rear fz sprocket to 47t r15 v2 sprocket,,,but right now im changing the rear to 42t of r15 v1...to chk on things,,,mounting holes for both the sprocket is same for fz,,cuz fz n r15 uses the same sprocket hub,,,n installing a 47t,,will include chain link addition,,,which is to b done by a very gud mech,,,becuz the chain is rivetted,,so thrz a complication,,however ma mech has removed n closed the link very carefully,,its been more than 20 k,,,no issues,,,,lets c waiting for the 47t sprocket...:P

                                r15 ver 1 rear sprocket- 42t- approx 270 rs
                                r15 ver 2 ..................- 47t- approx 370rs
