      • Hi Bud,

It might be because of the clutch, and this did occur on my bike along with floating gears (in between two gear positions) when down shifting. Specify that you have such a problem in your next service they might correct it.

In my case I am against a very non-cooperative Yamaha dealer whoc screws up my bike.

I am getting 29-30Kmpl only and the bike is no rocketship either. It sucks big time.

        Yamaha please help!

None she starts up up with a assertive purr with half a thumb press even on cold and rainy mornings, but my 'Baby Beast' is relatively new so will have to wait and see if she maintains the same as days and months and years go by.

                • hey guys!!!.......i've done 399kms so far on my fuzzy in 18 days........it feels amazing............one thing though........near my college there is an upward slope....tooooooooooo steep and the stupid fellas have put huge speed-breakers at 20 meter intervals........now when i try to get up in 2nd gear the revs start building and as my bike is new i am supposed to keep them below 4.5k.......so any solution to reach the top without exerting too much load on the engine???????

                  • try to pass the steep slope slowly in first gear..FZ can do it in ease without building up much revs..

You might actually be doing harm to your engine by strictly keeping it under 4500rpm! This is due to the piston ring not sealing properly. Till the engine is warmed up keep it in the range the Manual specifies, once warm open it up every once in a while. The best method is to alternate between short bursts of hard acceleration and deceleration.

                          • Fuel indicator Reading

                            Hey hi ppl,

I have Apr2009 FZ16. Completed 2600Kms as of now without any problem.

I have also same problem(?)..geat shifts with smooth tak tak sound.....

Can anyone help on how to read the fuel indicator?

I filled 4 ltrs once, indicator showed me 3 cells for 10 kms then suddenly one went away and in next 50kms another one gone and symbol started blinking.

Is there any issue? How should I judge the correctness? I am confused.
