Well MG my post was never aimed at any particular member be it nirav or anyone else , it's just what i feel about pulsar owners and that's just my personal opinion , i myself have been a pulsar 150 classic owner, had it besides my CBZ 150 classic but what really puts me off is the attitude of a few pulasr owners, they just can't digest a fact that there are a few bikes which are better than what they own namely ZMA , R15 and The unicorn............i've never heard any CBZ owners or HONDA owners crib about other bikes, then why bajaj owner's only, don't u feel it's just an unwanted hostility they are harbouring, if u go through my post i have nowhere degraded a pulsar but instead praised it and given it a status of a Legend which it truly is , and let's remember it like that .....all i say is give the FZ16 time to prove itself before giving a verdict, those engineers and designers are not fools to give us this wonderful piece of engineering, let's atleast appreciate their sincere efforts.

    • Personally, I feel the finish of the alloy wheels on the FZ16 are not upto the mark... Does anyone else feel the same?

The rains have stopped here and I'm ready to take delivery in a few days, but am highly confused between taking a red FZ16 or a black one... Any suggestions on color would be nice. Please don't suggest orange as I didn't like the FZ16 in orange and delivery will take longer if I opt for an orange FZ16.
I don't race, I don't perform stunts, I don't cut across lanes and/ or cut other vehicles, I love to wear my helmet and follow traffic rules/ laws and I prefer safety over surprise... If that is boring and/ or sissy as per you, so be it.

      • ^^Even i had a similar feeling when i saw the FZ closely. The paint quality seems over-applied and there is marked overlapping of the particles which makes the finish look weird. Also i don't think it's powder coated!!

Go for the Red FZ.It looks better than black, IMO!!

The red looks better to me as well when compared to the black.

Yes, something like what you've stated is exactly what I felt about the alloy wheels too.

Thanks for the suggestion on color, chicane1879 and xinfii.

I wonder which city that was...because I find it extremely hard to digest those mileage figures. Good review all-in-all though.

This review style reminds me a lot of MCN websites.

I too agree, the paint used in the alloys looks very cheap. It makes u feel as if they have oil painted it. Powder coating would have looked a lot better. I believe it is the same even with the R15 and the gladiators.

Nah... was just brooding about it....
I had come across a review in mouthshut.com about fz giving a mileage around 25-26kmpl... this made me feel somewhat uneasy for a while....

But after giving it some more thought, i planned to go ahead and so in the process paid the full amount. I am cool as long as it gives an avg around 40kmpl. But not in the mid 20's range....

As for the sake of info... i contacted the dealer and they assured me of full refund (of token amount also) in case a cancellation is made.....

                      • I have seen some Fuzzys till date.Started liking them already!

But do you guys feel it could have done with a bit bigger engine? Maybe 200 or 250?

I somehow got this feeling that if the FZ1 comes by it will simply create a riot!

                        • I done 1st service my fz16

I rode the bike for 1000 km in two week before my Yamaha FZ16 finally went in for its first service. The first service was a huge breather for me; in terms of the speed I can now ride my bike in. Before this, I maintained it around 50 kmph; now, I exceed it by at least 10 kmph. The manual says I have to limit the top speed below 65 kmph (until it runs 1000 km) for a good running-in of the engine.
I left it for servicing at oswal Motors, the same place I bought it. The service cost me Rs. 265 ( Engine Oil, Filter Oil, Bike Chane Spry) which was supposed to be free (apparently, only the labour charges are waived off). I got it back on the evening of the same day. The service was good; the bike felt smoother

The mileage just before I left it for service was around 40 kmpl. And after I got it back, I rode about a 100km; yet to calculate the mileage.

                          i touch a speedometer in 100kmph today

                          • Hey Guys lots of talk abt the Pulsar Vs FZ's ha....
K let me make it clear and lets smoke the dust off.......
**** I wanted to change to Fz myself from P200(Dont be surprised) I do change bikes often, reasons y i dont wish to Go for Fz........
1.Bike feels very light compared to P200 and its very difficult to move to a lighter bike as all of us know.
2.The lenght of P200 is much more than Fz. Again this becomes difficult when we talk abt handling and ride comfort.
3.The Top end of Fz is not really what u would need when u want to go for a Quickie....
4.Console of Fz seems to be a bit too small compared to what i am used 2.******

So Bikers lets not take this as a war from Pulsarians on Fz but just a veiwpoint as 2 what difficulites a Pulsarians would face if he buys/rides a Fz....now lets check this beast in the long run and see if it can impress us
                            X=need for more

                              • Let me add a point to the war, a Pulsar is a Pulsar and still Indian engineering! Had a Pulsar 180 DTSi V2 couple o years back, loved the machine when it was new but the engine felt so stressed on the long run!

Also, am currently riding ZMA 2006, till date engine feels as strong as a Tsunami and never stressed. Will never get bored of using its entire powerband.

Have already booked my FZ16, want to try something different! Already owned Unicorn but sold it due to riding comfort problem, am 6.1 Unicorn was the best 150cc bike engine wise I had ridden but now my vote goes for FZ16.

I think Pulsar people can start a separate thread for their wars between 150 180 200 220! No ways they can match JAP engineering! - Its like comparing Mallika Sherawat with Angelina Jolie!
