regarding the spares...
while body parts and mirrors are easily available for the r15
crucial stuff like oil filters are not which is sad becoz they mandate a compulsory change of te filter in the first service
repeated calls to yamaha have not helped...Why is the man who invests all your money, called a broker?

dont know about much showrooms here in delhi..but the one from where i got the R15..has not delivered any FZ 16s yet..they informed that bookings are still on...its just that the production is not so fast since the response is way above expectations..Originally posted by chickyheart View Postman they r giving delivery after 17th here in orrisa.don't know much about metros..i will get my bike on 19th
seems like the FZ is selling like a gaint wave..its becoming even difficult for yamaha to handle it
.
They say that in a months time it should be normal since they are now aware of what should be the production rate.
Just because you haven't seen it doesnt mean its impossible...expect the unexpected.

Well As far as I know Pulsar 200 was the first bike of it's kind in India to come with no kick and no FI. The engine caliberation is "Oil is Colled" Not "oil cooled"Originally posted by satyenpoojary View PostThe first air cooled and non FI bike to come without kick starter!
But hey I checked up the parts manual
it says that a kick can be installed!
Anyways it doesnt need one, cause it has a de compresor like the r15

Unless you don't want to upgrade to a higher cc there is no point in buying a FZ for you.Because you won't get any performance gain over your Pulsar 150 classic.Originally posted by speedaholica View Posti currently ride a pulsar 150 classic. so how advisable is the FZ?

yes already have an idea about that. my next choice was pulsar 200 or rtr for performance reasons obviously. however i dont know much about the rtr as different people have different views on it. about the 200 i have a friend who has it and i've ridden it quite often. Given my short and lean stature i look a little out of place on the bike and thus handling the bike becomes a bit uncomfortable for me.Originally posted by MG_Biker1806 View PostUnless you don't want to upgrade to a higher cc there is no point in buying a FZ for you.Because you won't get any performance gain over your Pulsar 150 classic.
I was considering the FZ for the following reasons:
1. Its overall design seems really good. The shape of tank seems nice for the thighs to have a firm grip on. The saddle height is good enough for someone like me who doesn't stand too tall from the ground. The overall feeling of sitting on the bike seems really nice. Well that during a ride can be a different story i understand, and i have that counted too.
2. The big front forks and the rear monoshock look like they will offer some cushioning against the potholed roads of mumbai. The beefy tires would do the work on the grip and handling front. Overall i'm looking for better handling.
3. If Yamaha is trying to make the so called comeback they wouldn't want to go wrong with this machine. So i'm hoping for some decent performance in the 150 cc class, if not the best then among the best.
4. The same theory holds true in case of spares. Why would they want to screw up on the spares front if they have the sales and the pre sales enthusiasm going their way. A brownie point for me here would be the presence of its Mumbai factory showroom a couple of minutes away from my place so getting the machine serviced(read: with no spares issue) will be an easy thing.
5. Though i love my classic i want to move away from bajaj and try something new.
So do these reasons justify buying the bike or with a lot of 'it seems' in them they look speculative? In any case if the bike turns out to be an all show but no go thing then i will go back to contemplating on the bajaj and the tvs.

There will always be some pluses and minuses with any bike. This bike is generations ahead of the P150 classic. Your reasons are justified and I say go for it. But I recommend test riding it (providing YAMAHA allows) before buying, to make up your mind on the performance aspect.Originally posted by speedaholica View PostSo do these reasons justify buying the bike or with a lot of 'it seems' in them they look speculative? The obvious negatives that i've noticed is the apparently small rear seat and lower BHP figures. Ya test ride is an issue. Went a couple of times to the showroom. They're not giving test rides and have vague reasons like company hasn't started offering test rides as yet. Now this could mean either they want to bank upon the curiosity and interest that the bike has brought with its looks and continue to sell it since/or they dont have enough bikes to offer for test rides( may be possible because this is a volume game where supply meets demand) or in worst cases the bike is a big hype and they dont want to performance savvy crowd to start pointing out flaws and disuade others from buying it.Originally posted by pranay View PostThere will always be some pluses and minuses with any bike. But then that makes one think would a company like Yamaha indulge in such kind of marketing where: go ahead customer buy the bike and later if it turns out to be not as good as it looks we hold no responbility since buying it was your choice, selling it, our job.>-----R One Fly----->>

Test rides have started in Pune, at their Camp location. I was gonna go today after work.. but they close at 7!!Originally posted by speedaholica View PostThe obvious negatives that i've noticed is the apparently small rear seat and lower BHP figures.
