Yamaha FZ16-The Discussion Thread

[R-series]

I didn't take the test ride but sat on the bike in the showroom the other day. My knees were touching the tank scoops which is not a good thing. I am 5'11'' so guys taller than me will definitely have problems.

Well considering the FZ16 ..that's disappointing..
But im 6 feet tall..but im still comfortable with the R15..not to mention the comfort while cornering

The R15 is made for track riding..not suitable for city traffic. for city roads i would personally preffer the FZ16 to be more comfortable and give a better response due to that strong low range torque. But for empty streets..like sunday mornings (thats when I ride) the R15 is in its own element. and if the rider is good..the only other bike to match upto it si another R15

i know .. RTR and R15 ...they are pure track bikes ..

I dont quite understand what you're trying to say? The reviewer tested the bike for what it is, happened to like it and writes the same in his article! How does that make him a "Dishonest Douche Bag"? If you have any evidence to the contrary, presenting that here would make a better argument in your favor than idle name calling!

PS: Have you tried out the bike yet?

Oh really ?? and why does the magazine sell so much ?? Dude, if the bike is worth the praise, then thats going to happen big time.. and definately, there is no other bike in india now that can look even remotely better than Fz16 !! not even R15 i bet..

and have you ridden the bike yet??
Not to hurt you, but definately if you happen to ride the bike and experience it, you wudnt be writing wat you wrote and reading what i wrote !!!

had gone to the showroom to have a closer look at FZ. looks awesome.
but i did find the finishing of the rear alloys not good. did anyone else notice that or was this a bad piece?
like most of other here... the only thing deterring me from upgrading to this bike is the the CC (bhp, torque). cos if i buy this now for the whole package, am pretty sure one year from now ill feel like upgrading again.

No sir, any such claim on BI is pure offense.

Well there are few areas where bunny didn't throw much light, e.g.

1 what is the significance of putting radial tires?

2 The riding posture for long distances? (We have heard it is upright)

3 Occasional Touring Capability? (We don't buy a different bike for commuting and touring)

4 Since it is a city bike, what will be the average (It should not be that low as i have heard ~ 38) ?

Did someone notice that the FZ16 doesn't have a cable running for the speedo/odo?

The digital console gets the reading from the sprocket it seems. Though there would be things like tyre rolling and other stuff, this tells me that the speedo can be pretty accurate in comparison. What say?

@superkartz: everyone is entitled to their opinions, but there is a line between opinion and straight out insulting someone in a forum. You've crossed that line. You don't like the review, that is fair enough. But reviewer is Douche Bag? Come on bro, have a little bit of respect for fellow riders.

FYI, all the reviewers of that magazine are well experienced riders who have track, off-road, and street experience. The editor is a legend in his own right.

Fz 160 rocks

Last Saturday went to Select City mall, Saket & booked the FZ16 for one of my friend. By Look, it is absolutely LOUD. It says that " I AM HERE, GET ASIDE "
Dont know yet how the bike will perform, but atleast have full faith in the "NEW" Yamaha Co. Atleast now they have started thinking positively which reflects in the products R15, FZ160.
I have an RX100, which can still giv me the thrills.

Heard that bangalore wheels or orion motors of bangalore is displaying yamaha scooters in their showrooms. Is that true ...can some one confirm with an yes or no ??
