Lesser the rpm means that the torque fig will be developed by the engine faster...
so 1.75kgm @6000rpm means the bike has the max torque at that paricular rpm...in a drag the faster the Peak torque develops the better the acceleration..
anyone plz feel to correct me if am worng

true, one needs torque with lower rpm for outright acceleration, then how does BHP at a higher rpm help? or how and when does the BHP contribute to the performance of the bike/car?

i think in both the cases FZ16 is a clear winner ..
mainly in the city riding.. i literally see people struggling with their R15s ..

                  • I am bowled over by the looks of this bike. Isn't there a Best looking Bike of the year award 2008 ?

                    FZ16 takes it for me.

                    • Again I would ask here.. will it be a good tourer too? I know its meant for city rides.. but I like its look and feel. Felt confident when I sat on it.

But beside city riding, my requirement is that it should also be able to run continously between 85-100 kmph on highways.

                      Can FZ16 do this?

It has a Square engine, so i think problem of heating up will be less. Me too keen on knowing its touring capability.

                        • Depends on gearing too - somebody with gearing gyan should look up the ratios and compare it to say a Uni - which is pretty relaxed and capable tourer for a 150cc.

Initial reports of good low end torque are promising too.

                          • Maintaining an 85-100 kmph speed should not be an issue guys... the gladiator can run over 80 speeds constantly for hours... these japanese engines are very refined and don't heat up. Why don't u wait a few more days and take a test ride first to check the riding position and what ever else u need to???

I didn't take the test ride but sat on the bike in the showroom the other day. My knees were touching the tank scoops which is not a good thing. I am 5'11'' so guys taller than me will definitely have problems.

The R15 is made for track riding..not suitable for city traffic. for city roads i would personally preffer the FZ16 to be more comfortable and give a better response due to that strong low range torque. But for empty streets..like sunday mornings (thats when I ride) the R15 is in its own element. and if the rider is good..the only other bike to match upto it si another R15
