what worries me is the profile of the rear rubber...i guess it's 140/60/17...The alloys are sure gonna take a severe beating given the indian road conditions
What do I intend to do? Stuff ZMR drivetrain into an Ambition chassis and watch others run scared!

I too had the same doubt, but later I found that the suspension play is the longest and the suspension is very soft. I think it will make up for the lower profile tyre, and I really hope it does so.

A significant note is, one of our xbhpian had bumped his R-15 into pothole and both the rims got bent. His bike currently in service center for the past one month. No spares yet. There are two other R-15s in hyd with bent alloys.

Now, we really have to see if the rims of FZ-16 can take the hardbeating.

                    Bike looks cool

The bike looks good. Very macho in my opinion. Reading through the comments above, I think no manufacturer can satisfy us bikers. when R15 was given skinny tires, we complained, when we are given fatter tire in the FZ16 we complain again. If yamaha is reading this thread(which i am sure they are), what would they take as feedback.

We as consumers should be clear in what we want for the money we are willing to spend. We can't expect the moon after spending reasonable amount of money. I feel for 75000, what we get in the fz16 is reasonable.

Hope no one feels offended for my statement above, but I stand by what I said above.

Well the greatest advantage of FZ16 is that it has almost resembled its Great Bigger Brother FZ

THe tyres and in looks which R-1-5 failed to claim from its brother R-1

Look at the tyres in Front and Back
THe rear tyre is somwhat acceptable
But the Front is wat - quite unbearable - How an 155mill is gonna pull this to its peak performance is gonna be the mindblowing factor
Yamaha's engineering is gonna prove its show on this case

The front tyre - oh god

The back tyre - oh god - this looks something of a cars tyre
HOw a Drum break is gonna stop it in Rear - Okie No probs in it

Lets wait for its On road Performance and reviews

The bike really looks awesome, but I am personally disappointed by specs - just 14 ps and 153 cc??? In that case the bike is too pricey and not all that desirable!

But do not forget the weight of the bike. What matters is the power to weight ratio.

I had seen this bike in pune on 30th August. And guess what, it was neither having a temp number plate nor the rider seemed to be a yamaha test rider. He was some college guy from model colony. I guess he was able to get his hands on this one way before its launch.

I got this from the net.

                              FZ 16 is 102.18 PS/ton
Torque to weight ratio is also the same 102.18 Nm/ton
